Doctor Who is in for a big transmission change in time for its season 2 finale.
The upcoming finale of the current series, featuring Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor and Varada Sethu as Belinda Chandra, is getting ready for its broadcast. This final episode will be released simultaneously on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK on May 31, during a prime-time evening time slot.
Globally, excluding the United Kingdom, the season finale is scheduled to stream on Disney+. The specific broadcast date and time will be announced later.
In this installment, things are taking an unexpected turn, a departure from the usual morning releases on iPlayer and Disney+ whenever they were accessible for me at 8 in the morning.
The season finale titled ‘The Reality War’, penned by showrunner Russell T Davies and helmed by director Alex Sanjiv Pillai, was earlier hinted at as a thrilling journey for the audience.

In the epic, extended finale, I’m about to engage in one of my toughest and most significant fights yet, all for the sake of returning Belinda safely back home.
In my perspective, things look grim indeed. The Doctor’s fate seems sealed, Belinda appears to have vanished, and poor Ruby finds herself ensnared. Even UNIT seems incapable of intervening. The Unholy Trinity reigns supreme, and it seems the Underverse is on the verge of breaking through. That’s according to Davies, regarding the climactic episode.
Now, everyone gets to witness this heart-wrenching climax simultaneously, as we debut it globally for the first time ever! I assure you, there will be surprises, jumps that scare your socks off, and mind-blowing revelations! So come on in and join the fun!

Last month’s announcement had me pretty excited – the second-to-last (Wish World) and concluding episodes of this gaming season will be hitting the big screen after their television premiere! I can hardly wait as BBC Studios teams up with CinemaLive to make it happen.
Based on the positive response from last year’s late-night movie event, we are thrilled to collaborate with BBC Studios this time around. This means that fans young and old will have the opportunity to enjoy the thrill of watching the two-part season finale of Doctor Who on a large screen, as John Travers, head of acquisitions and distribution for CinemaLive, announced.

In the United Kingdom, you can catch Doctor Who on BBC One, while it’s aired elsewhere on Disney+. For those in the UK, classic episodes of Doctor Who can be found on BBC iPlayer.
