Doctor Who star issues specific instructions for show return

Doctor Who star Karen Gillan has laid out her conditions for returning to the show as Amy Pond.

From 2010 to 2012, Gillan portrayed the character Amy opposite Matt Smith’s portrayal of the Eleventh Doctor in the series.

As a devoted fan, I recently had the thrilling opportunity to join Tom Hiddleston, Mark Hamill, and my beloved co-stars from “Life of Chuck” on “The One Show.” During our chat, I was delightfully asked if I might return to the TARDIS for another Doctor Who adventure as Amy. (However you phrase it, I’d be more than happy to!)

Gillan replied, ‘I’d be happy to join if asked, but only with Matt Smith and Arthur Darvill.’ In other words, he expressed his willingness to participate under certain conditions.

In simpler terms, during seasons 5 through 7 of the BBC’s science fiction series, Darvill played the role of Rory Williams, who was also known as “The Last Centurion,” and traveled alongside the Doctor, portrayed by Gillan.

Seated alongside them on the couch was Suranne Jones, an actress whose tenure on Doctor Who was mentioned by Gillan. He humorously suggested: “Suranne, you could take up your role as the TARDIS again. After all, we’re practically sitting in the TARDIS right now.

Back in 2022 Gillan gave the same conditions for returning to the show, saying: “Never say never.”

“If I was asked, I would be really, really interested and keen,” she added.

As a gamer, I found myself immersed in “The Life of Chuck,” a heart-wrenching tale where Tom Hiddleston breathes life into the character of Charles ‘Chuck’ Krantz. In this game of life, Chuck was an ordinary man, cut short by fate at the tender age of 39 due to a relentless brain tumor.

The movie narrates Chuck’s life journey in three separate segments, each moving backward in time from the present (his death) to his past (childhood).

Since Gillan met up with Hiddleston from Marvel, people have asked if she might play Nebula again in the MCU. Nebula was last seen in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in 2023. (Informal paraphrase)

In an interview with Movie Web, Gillan shared that working in the Marvel universe is incredibly enjoyable. Regarding future projects, he is tight-lipped, but hinted that “never say never” might apply.
