Doctor Who star confirms character mystery will be solved very soon

Actress Anita Dobson, famously known for her role in Doctor Who, hints at a swift resolution to the enigma surrounding her on-screen persona.

In the 2023 Christmas special, “The Church on Ruby Road,” I was introduced as Mrs. Flood, a character portrayed by Dobson. At first glance, it seemed like I was just Ruby Sunday’s (Millie Gibson) inquisitive neighbor, but as the story unfolded, there was so much more to me!

Yet, at the conclusion of the episode, viewers were taken aback when Mrs. Flood identified the Doctor’s (Ncuti Gatwa’s) TARDIS, leaving them pondering about the potential implications of this surprising disclosure.

Fortunately for fans of Doctor Who, the enigma surrounding Mrs Flood will be resolved as she makes a comeback in the imminent episode. As stated by Dobson to RadioTimes, “By the conclusion of this current series, you’ll discover her true identity and learn more about her.

Additionally, the actor shared his thoughts on the character’s backstory, suggesting that devoted fans might have come quite close to solving the mystery.

She mentioned that she finds certain theories quite fascinating, as she has attended a few comic conventions where fans share their thoughts with her.

As a devoted fan, I must say that the showrunner Russell T Davies has come incredibly close to unveiling the truth on several occasions, leaving me in awe. There are moments when I find myself exclaiming, “Wow, this is truly exceptional!” I sincerely hope he’s tuned in and listening, because I’m eager for more of this incredible journey. It’s been an absolute pleasure, and I can’t help but express my deep affection for Mrs. Flood.

Regarding future developments with Mrs. Flood, Dobson chose to keep major revelations under wraps regarding the upcoming season. Nevertheless, he hinted at spectacular wardrobe choices for his character, which could point towards thrilling experiences on the horizon.

“I get to wear some really cool outfits. I’m big on clothes!” she added.
