Lenny Rush, known for playing Morris Gibbons in Doctor Who, is taking on a new acting job as the BBC prepares for a special event. He described his Doctor Who character as “grumpy” but said playing the role was really enjoyable.
Hugh Laurie will perform in a comedy sketch inspired by the TV show The Apprentice. It will be shown during the BBC’s annual Children in Need fundraising event.
The comedy sketch features the actor and a group of young, ambitious contestants entering the iconic boardroom. They’ll be competing to show they’re serious about securing funding for a charity project.

The contestants will question Lord Alan Sugar in a tough interview. The show promises they won’t shy away from asking him anything, covering topics like his personality, fortune, hobbies, family, and past business decisions.
Lord Sugar will once again be working with Karren Brady and Tim Campbell, who will support him throughout the process. For the first time in years, Lord Sugar will be the one receiving feedback instead of giving it.

Rush said he’s really enjoyed leading the BBC’s kids’ programming takeover. He especially loved being back on Children in Need doing sketches, as he gets to play a hilariously grumpy and self-absorbed boss – the BBC’s Deputy Head of Programming.
I’ve agreed to a one-time interview with some young people as a favor to the Pudsey charity,” said Lord Sugar, who has been the host of The Apprentice since 2005. “I think I must be getting a little bit softer in my old age, but we’ll see how it goes.”

Besides appearing in the sketch, Rush will also help host the BBC Children in Need broadcast. He’ll be joined by fellow presenters Mel Giedroyc, Rochelle Humes, Vernon Kay, Paddy McGuinness, and Big Zuu.
I’m so excited for Children in Need! It’s been going since 1980, and this year it’s on BBC One, Friday, November 14th at 7pm. From what I’ve heard, it’s going to be amazing – full of really touching performances, special bits, and funny sketches, and it’s all about the kids, which is what makes it so great.
