As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that rumors are swirling about Doctor Who star Alex Kingston joining the next season of Strictly Come Dancing! This could be an exciting turn of events, and I can’t wait to see her grace the dance floor with her charm and energy.
The ER actress, aged 62, quickly seized the opportunity to join the BBC series upon seeing her friend Sarah Hadland finish as runner-up last year.
A source told The Sun: ‘Bosses are delighted to have snapped up Alex.
She demonstrates true skill and her presence is sure to enrich the production; it’s always thrilling to welcome an esteemed actress to our cast.
For the first time, Alex is participating in a reality show. Despite this being new territory for her, her love for the program was so strong that she found it hard to pass up the chance.
Daily Mail has contacted the BBC and Alex’s representatives for comment.

Alex notably appeared in US drama ER from 1997 to 2005 alongside George Clooney.
Additionally, she assumed a regular character part in Doctor Who, embodying River Song – the romantic partner of Matt Smith’s portrayal of the Doctor, as well as the child of Amy (portrayed by Karen Gillan) and Rory (played by Arthur Darvill).
During Peter Capaldi’s tenure on the BBC science fiction series, Alex temporarily returned to her character. Furthermore, she lent her voice for various audiobooks within the franchise.
Previously, Alex expressed her intention to join Strictly Come Dancing. She mentioned that she and her good friend Sarah, who took part in the competition last year, had talked about it.
Sarah and I discussed our shared enthusiasm for participating in Strictly Come Dancing, which she mentioned back in 2019.
After finding out that she’s professionally trained in ballet, I exclaimed, “Whoa, that’s not right!” Clearly, I can’t compete during her season.
The series will return later this year, although an exact date is yet to be announced.
It’s rumored that Ellie Goldstein could make history as the first contestant with Down syndrome on Strictly Come Dancing, following her reported participation in the show.

The young woman, aged 23, who graced the cover of Vogue, aspires to shatter stereotypes and create change within the entertainment world.
When Ellie was born, medical professionals indicated that she may never be able to walk or speak, and a nurse sadly proposed that her parents consider leaving her at the hospital.
Ever since I was born in December 2001, I’ve managed to surpass all predictions, becoming the groundbreaking figure as the first model with Down’s syndrome to star in significant global advertising initiatives.
As a connoisseur of all things lifestyle-related, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! This Fall, Strictly Come Dancing is making its grand comeback, and it seems like another star has joined the dance floor. Rumors abound that Ellie could be the next celebrity to step into the limelight. Stay tuned for more updates on this dancing sensation!
In 2020, Ellie was chosen by Gucci to feature in their unconventional beauty advertisements, culminating in her gracing the cover of Italian Vogue.
She has been showcased on many magazine covers, such as Elle and Glamour, and has been a part of campaigns for brands like Gucci Beauty, Adidas, TK Maxx, The Body Shop, Boots, Spotify, Victoria’s Secret, and Sports Direct. Additionally, she has had portraits displayed at the National Portrait Gallery in London on two separate occasions.
As a die-hard admirer, I can hardly contain my excitement! It’s me, your fangirl, who’s bursting with pride as Ellie jets off to Sweden, Italy, and Germany for mesmerizing photoshoots! The cherry on top? She just graced the London Fashion Week catwalk, leaving everyone spellbound!
In 2023, she headed to Paris to receive a prestigious Business of Fashion award.

Apart from being pampered like royalty during photo sessions, Ellie has also received an abundance of high-end presents – clothing and handbags from Gucci and Kurt Geiger – and had a hand in designing her own Adidas dress, a delicate pink one with ‘Role Model’ inscribed at the back.
When Mattel unveiled its inaugural Barbie featuring Down’s syndrome, they enlisted the assistance of Ellie for marketing purposes.
Previously, she shared with Daily Mail that she has greatly enjoyed her modelling career and it holds a special place in her heart. Additionally, she expressed her delight in being part of the Barbie project as it was a wonderful experience to see a doll resembling her for the first time.
Additionally, there are whispers that Dani Dyer, longtime Neighbours star Stefan Dennis, Stacey Solomon, and Vicky Pattison might be included in the 2025 lineup as well.
Experts like Helen Flanagan, Paul C Brunson (known for his dating advice), Gladiators’ star Nitro, Tom Parker-Bowles, and Georgia Toffolo are rumored to make an appearance as well.
