Doctor Who releases season 15 trailer with new and returning guest stars

The Doctor (from the television series) has unveiled a fresh new trailer for season 15. This sneak peek features our companion and an array of special guests, with Rylan being one of them!

Ncuti Gatwa returns as The Doctor, now accompanied by Varada Sethu portraying Belinda Chandra. Previous viewers may recall that Gatwa appeared in a different role during the previous season, and the latest trailer subtly hints at this, suggesting an intriguing mystery to unravel in the upcoming storyline.

Additionally, there are short appearances by Alan Cumming, who was earlier announced as a guest star (his character is voiced since he’s animated). Also, it’s disclosed that Rylan will be taking on the role of host for the Interstellar Song Contest, which bears a strong resemblance to Eurovision.

In addition, we catch glimpses of past associates such as Ruby Sunday (played by Millie Gibson), Mel Bush (Bonnie Langford), Kate Lethbridge-Stewart who leads UNIT (portrayed by Jemma Redgrave), and the enigmatic character Mrs. Flood (Anita Dobson).

As an ardent fan of Doctor Who, receiving the invitation to appear on the show has long been a dream of mine, according to Rylan.

This episode combines everything I love about the series, plus it introduces a space-themed song competition. It’s like a wish fulfilled! I’m eager for everyone to watch it; it promises to be absolutely mind-blowing!

Besides those guest stars, there are more joining the season. They include Caoilfhionn Dunne from “A Thousand Blows”, Christopher Chung from “Slow Horses”, Jonah Hauer-King from “The Little Mermaid”, Evelyn Miller from “The Lovers”, Julia Dray from “Ludwig”, and Ariyon Bakare, who previously starred in the episode “The Woman Who Lived” during Peter Capaldi’s era.

How many of them did you spot in the trailer?

I can hardly contain my excitement as I eagerly await the return of Doctor Who on April 12, gracing our screens on BBC One in the UK! For those lucky folks living outside the UK, it will be available on Disney+. And if you’re looking to catch up on some classic episodes, they are readily accessible right here on BBC iPlayer for the UK viewers!
