Fans of Doctor Who are “anticipating” the comeback of a well-known adversary following the appearance of a familiar figure at the unveiling of the upcoming 15th series.
Later in April, on the 12th, the BBC’s science fiction series will come back for a new season. This time, our beloved Time Lord, portrayed by Ncuti Gatwa, along with companions Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson) and Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu), will continue their thrilling journey through space and time.
At London’s Leicester Square, where the cast gathered for the global debut of the new season, it was a past performer that sparked conversations among spectators. Multiple astute observers noticed Michelle Gomez in attendance at the event.
During the run of Peter Capaldi’s tenure in the series, the actor portrayed Missy, a female version of The Master, who later transformed into the Lumiat following her selfless redemption and sad death.
At the unveiling of the new season, viewers began wondering if Missy might reappear, as Gomez’s presence sparked such conjecture. One enthusiastic fan even posted on Instagram: “Wishing for Missy’s return now😥.

Another enthusiast inquired, “Will Michelle Gomez return? Goodness gracious, it would break my heart if she didn’t!” A number of other fans were curious to know if the actress might reappear in the role of the renowned character.
Gomez, who’s known for her roles on “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” and “The Flight Attendant”, mentioned to Digital Spy in the past that there might be more Missy appearances. In 2020, she stated it wasn’t a definitive end to the storyline.
The actor remarked, “The story of Doctor Who is always open-ended for me!” He expressed his desire to reappear at some future time. That’s a definite ‘Yes,’ indicating he’s willing. However, currently, he isn’t. But he soon will be.

Occasionally, it’s hard to distinguish if Ncuti Gatwa is dressed up for a role or just wearing everyday clothing,” one fan observed. Another admirer added, “Gatwa always looks fantastic, no matter what he chooses to wear.
In the UK, you can catch Doctor Who on BBC One, while viewers outside the UK can find it on Disney+. For those in the UK, classic episodes of Doctor Who are accessible through BBC iPlayer.
