Doctor Who confirms surprise new-season plot twist role for Graham Norton that’s “not just a cameo”

Graham Norton has been confirmed to guest star in a new episode of Doctor Who.

On April 12th, our cherished science fiction series makes a comeback for its 15th season, and this time, Ncuti Gatwa embarks on his second journey as The Doctor.

The confirmation has come in that Norton will feature in the sixth episode of the season, which airs on May 17 and is called ‘The Intergalactic Song Competition’.

In this upcoming adventure, we’ll join the Doctor and his latest traveling partner, Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu), as they journey towards the 803rd Cosmic Music Festival. Here, planets from all over the cosmos will vie for the grand title.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that since 2009, Norton has been the BBC’s television commentator for the Eurovision Song Contest. And guess what? Showrunner Russell T Davies has revealed that it’s not just a fleeting appearance in an upcoming episode – it’s more substantial than that!

Our studio event wouldn’t have been complete without the legendary Graham Norton, and we were thrilled to have him join us here in Cardiff.

Not only does he make a brief appearance, but his character takes an unexpected turn in the storyline – this is undoubtedly the most unpredictable episode yet, and it’s thrilling to see Graham contributing to the chaos!

In addition to the regular cast, this episode will feature special guest stars like Charlie Condou from “Unforgotten”, Kadiff Kirwan and Freddie Fox from “Slow Horses”, popular host Rylan Clark, and Miriam-Teak Lee.

This season’s second episode will feature Alan Cumming, host of “The Traitors US”, as a guest star. He voices a character called Mr Ring-a-Ding.

Mr. Ring-a-Ding is characterized as a cheerful, humorous, and musical animated character residing in the vibrant town of Sunnyville along with his companion, Sunny Sally.

Yet, by 1952, following numerous cinema showings nationwide, Mr. Ring-a-Ding unexpectedly gazes past the movie screen and encounters the genuine world outside – a sight that brings forth chilling repercussions.
