Doctor Doom Surprises Loki to Steal His Powers in Avengers: Doomsday Art
As a die-hard film enthusiast, I’m absolutely thrilled about the fresh artwork for the upcoming movie, “Avengers: Doomsday.” The plot has Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom squaring off against Tom Hiddleston’s Loki. When Marvel Studios announced the cast for “Avengers: Doomsday,”, it became clear that many key characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Fox’s original X-Men franchise would be reprising their roles. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige even confirmed that Downey’s Doctor Doom will engage in battles not only with the Avengers, but also the original X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and numerous other superhero teams. Although Loki isn’t a part of any of these groups at the moment, he is expected to play a pivotal role in the events unfolding in “Avengers: Doomsday“, as Doctor Doom targets him.
On Instagram, the account @welove__marvel posted a piece of fan artwork depicting Robert Downey Jr.’s portrayal of Doctor Doom unexpectedly encountering Tom Hiddleston’s character Loki.
In an illustration titled “Avengers: Doomsday,” Doctor Doom, accurately depicted from his comic book persona, stands behind Loki who sits on a throne last seen during the finale of “Loki” season 2. Dressed in a contemporary version of his classic Marvel Comics attire, Loki is not engaged in combat with Doctor Doom in this artwork. However, the impending confrontation between these powerful characters is evident, hinting at their potential alliance or conflict in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film.
What The Doctor Doom & Loki Avengers: Doomsday Art Means
The Characters Should Interact In A Key Way In The MCU Movie
The upcoming movie titled “Avengers: Doomsday” is shaping up to be a significant addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). As of now, Marvel Studios has kept the storyline under wraps, only confirming the characters involved and its connection to the 2027’s “Avengers: Secret Wars”. However, considering the artwork for “Avengers: Doomsday”, a meeting between Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom and Tom Hiddleston’s Loki appears unavoidable. Given that Victor von Doom will be the chief antagonist in the next two Avengers films, it makes sense that Loki, who stands in his path to controlling the multiverse, would cross paths with him.
The second season of Disney+’s Loki concluded with the titular character being elevated as the MCU’s God of Narratives. Essentially, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki now serves as the guardian of the multiverse, nurturing all its branches instead of trimming them like the TVA under He Who Remains had done. Given that the multiverse plays a crucial role in the upcoming two Avengers films and Doctor Doom requires the power he obtained from the Beyonders in the comics to transform into God Emperor Doom and establish Battleworld, it appears that seizing Loki’s multiversal powers could be an ideal strategy for the antagonist.
Our Take On The Doctor Doom & Loki Avengers: Doomsday Art
Tom Hiddleston’s MCU Hero Better Watch Out For Doctor Doom
In contrast to the seriousness typically found in Marvel Cinematic Universe films, the art for Avengers: Doomsday leans towards a more humorous style. However, I think it accurately portrays the scenario where Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom is pursuing Tom Hiddleston’s Loki. Given the limited time to introduce Victor von Doom, all confirmed characters for the movie, potential MCU members, and the complex concept of the Beyonders, Marvel might simplify the story by having Doctor Doom aim to seize Loki’s powers. This would make Avengers: Doomsday an exciting film.
