Doc Martin star’s “captivating” British movie compared to a “fever dream” confirms streaming release

The British film “The Extraordinary Miss Flower,” which stars Caroline Catz from the show “Doc Martin,” has officially announced its streaming release date.

The movie that debuted at the 2020 London Film Festival and recently hit theaters has been likened to a “cinematic hallucination” (as mentioned by BFI), and features Icelandic musician Emilíana Torrini in its cast.

The film weaves together elements of music, readings, and dramatic sequences, using an album recorded by Torrini as its foundation, which was initially sent in a box of love letters to Zoe’s future mother, Geraldine Flower.

If you’re eager to watch the movie “The Extraordinary Miss Flower“, here’s some great news! It’s set to debut on BFI Player on 21 July. For Amazon Prime Video users, you can even add BFI Player as a channel.

In their review, Loud and Clear described the project as a compelling biopic that encourages viewers to delve deeper into an extraordinary life. Meanwhile, Shadows on the Wall commented that the filmmakers and Torrini have crafted a brilliant outpouring of creativity, springing from an unforeseen wellspring.

In addition to Cat Zimmerman playing Geraldine Flower, the film also stars Richard Ayoade, Alice Lowe, and Nick Cave. Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard are responsible for directing it.

Torrini had expressed that working on this movie was an exhilarating, captivating journey for her. She had never encountered a film set quite like it before, and she’s still left puzzled about the events that transpired. Zoe [Flower], Iain [Forsyth] and Jane [Pollard] astounded her with their ability to execute such an impressive project in a limited timeframe.

The performers and their team truly shone, demonstrating a profound grasp of the emotional and creative origins of these songs. A heartfelt appreciation goes out to Sam Dyson, our executive producer, and the Distiller team for having faith in this venture and standing by us.

The Extraordinary Miss Flower will stream on BFI Player from 21 July.
