DIY vs Motor City Machine Guns can revive tag team wrestling in WWE

As a seasoned gamer of the squared circle with over two decades under my belt, I must say that the recent development between DIY and Motor City Machine Guns (MCMG) on WWE SmackDown has me more excited than a kid on Christmas morning! The potential for this tag team feud to reignite the spark in the WWE tag division is immense.

Fans of professional wrestling from all corners are hopeful for a resurgence of tag team wrestling. Despite both WWE and All Elite Wrestling boasting rosters brimming with talent suitable for tag teams, titles in this category have often felt overshadowed by other events. However, on WWE SmackDown, there’s a storyline that could reignite interest in tag team wrestling within the largest wrestling company. This storyline pits DIY against the Motor City Machine Guns.

Fans were concerned when Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley signed to WWE. The company doesn’t have the greatest track record with how it treats performers built in other companies. The last two to three years doesn’t make up for decades of mismanagement. Especially when it comes to the tag division.

However, unlike other instances, the company ensured not to repeat the error concerning MCMG. Just two weeks after their introduction, they managed to outdo The Bloodline and claim the tag team championships. During this journey, they also triumphed over DIY in a much-awaited contest.

Following that point, the narrative once again centered around Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano – a turn of events that left me intrigued. At first glance, it appeared as though Ciampa was about to embrace a villainous role. However, both these characters have now taken a fascinating twist, transforming into their most compelling antagonists within WWE NXT. In the process, they even managed to seize the tag titles. Now, I can’t help but keep a keen eye on how this rivalry unfolds in the coming days.

In more straightforward terms: A face-off between MCMG (Sabin, Shelley, Gargano, and Ciampa) versus DIY could be the most compelling tag team rivalry of recent times in professional wrestling. Each member of this quartet is a top-tier talent and creative mind in the industry today. They have numerous standout performances on their resumes. By combining their talents, allowing them to create the storyline, and watching them bring it to life in the ring could generate massive interest in the WWE tag team division.

On both SmackDown and Monday Night Raw, the titles are being displayed as sidelines. Although Raw requires further refinement since Judgment Day currently holds the titles, the storyline on SmackDown is setting it up for better things to come. Prepare yourself for some thrilling tag team wrestling action in WWE!
