Divisive Halloween sequel is now available to watch on Netflix
As a seasoned gamer and horror movie aficionado who has survived countless nights of terror thanks to my trusty controller, I must say that Halloween Ends is a chilling finale to a modern horror classic. Having grown up watching Jamie Lee Curtis’ iconic portrayal of Laurie Strode, it was heartening to see her reprise the role one last time.
The concluding movie of the Halloween sequel trilogy, titled “Halloween Ends,” is now ready for streaming on Netflix.
Back in 2022, I got my hands on the third installment of this chilling series that dropped on Netflix UK today (August 16). Picking up where Halloween (2018) and Halloween Kills (2021) left off, Halloween Ends finds me once again teaming up with the resilient Laurie Strode, portrayed by Jamie Lee Curtis. In this thrilling finale, we face off against the relentless serial killer Michael Myers one last time.
Despite their efforts to leave the past behind, Laurie and her granddaughter Allyson (played by Andi Matichak) find themselves plunged back into turmoil. This is triggered when they stand up for local outcast Corey Cunningham (portrayed by Rohan Campbell).
Lately, following a charge for murder, Corey develops a romantic relationship with Allyson. Yet, matters take a turn for the worse as Corey encounters Michael Myers.
As a devoted fan, I’m eagerly anticipating Halloween Ends, marking the conclusion of the rebooted series. In an exclusive interview with Digital Spy prior to its premiere, Jamie Lee Curtis, iconically portraying Curtis, hinted that this film might stir some anger among fans due to its compelling narrative.
She pointed out from the start that people would react angrily. The reason for their anger, she clarified, stems from our statements addressing broader societal issues. Specifically, these remarks concern victims and the practice of blaming them, often referred to as “victim shaming.”
As a long-time observer of human nature, I can’t help but notice the striking parallels between our actions online and the monster-like behavior we exhibit in real life. My personal experience has shown me that people tend to bristle at being labeled as monsters, yet when given the anonymity of social media, they often act with little regard for others, spreading hate, fear, and vitriol with a click of a button.
The film portrays the climactic confrontation between Michael and Laurie, symbolizing good versus evil. Yet, amidst this struggle, it poses an intriguing question: Is Michael truly wicked, or does everyone share some degree of guilt in this scenario?
