Disney’s Snow White remake becomes a streaming hit following box-office flop

The live-action adaptation of Disney’s “Snow White” has gained popularity on streaming platforms following its poor performance at the cinema.

Despite negative feedback from critics, the movie managed to gross only slightly more than $200 million globally, which was significantly lower than its estimated production cost ranging between $240-$270 million.

Starting from its release on Disney+ last Wednesday (11th of June), it has emerged as the most-streamed film globally across the platform this week.

It’s also one of this month’s most-watched pieces of Disney+ content overall.

Currently, The House of Mouse is offering a special deal: New and qualifying repeat customers can subscribe to the Disney+ Standard with Ads plan at an exceptionally low price of only £1.99 per month for a period of four months (usually £4.99 per month).

That means that you’d only pay £7.96 over the four-month duration, saving £12.

The deal only runs until 30 June, so if you want to snap it up, be quick.

You can watch the film on various streaming services such as Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Microsoft Store within the United Kingdom.

Despite earning a 39% rating on Rotten Tomatoes for the film as a whole, Rachel Zegler’s portrayal of Snow White received universal acclaim. Alongside her, Gal Gadot and Andrew Burnap are also part of the cast.

In the past month, Disney unveiled their newest live-action adaptation titled “Lilo & Stitch“. This film proved to be a massive success at the cinema, earning more than $850 million, and garnered mostly favorable critic responses as well.

Snow White is available to stream now via Disney+.
