Disneyland Resort President Thomas Mazloum named parks chief

Thomas Mazloum, currently president of Disneyland Resort, has been promoted to chairman of Disney’s experiences division, Disney announced on Tuesday.

Mazloum is taking over as head of Disney’s theme park business from Josh D’Amaro, who will soon be Disney’s CEO. This division is a major source of income for Disney, and Mazloum will oversee all of it, including the parks themselves, the Imagineering team that designs attractions, Disney merchandise, the cruise line, and the Aulani Resort & Spa in Hawaii.

Jill Estorino is the new head of Disneyland Resort. Before this role, she led Disney Parks International, managing all of Disney’s theme parks and resorts in both Europe and Asia.

Over half of the people who visit Disneyland are from California, which is helping to make up for fewer tourists coming from other countries to Disney’s U.S. parks.

Estorino and Mazloum will start their new positions on March 18th, alongside D’Amaro and Dana Walden, who is becoming Disney’s President and Chief Creative Officer.

According to D’Amaro, Thomas Mazloum is a fantastic leader who truly values the people who bring Disney magic to life. He’s consistently delivered positive results and is known for his commitment to providing excellent service, his extensive international experience, and his understanding of the creativity behind Disney’s storytelling. These qualities make him the ideal person to lead Disney Experiences as it moves forward.

Mazloum had worked at Disneyland for about a year. Before that, he led Disney Signature Experiences, overseeing the Disney cruise line. He received his training in hospitality from schools in Europe.
