As a huge Disney fan, I’m really excited to see them growing their reach in the Middle East! They’ve just partnered with MBC Group and Anghami, two major players in the region, to create a combined streaming package. It means easier access to Disney+, plus other content, for viewers over there – a win for everyone, honestly!
Customers in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE will soon be able to enjoy a package that includes three streaming services: Disney+, Shahid (offering Arabic shows, sports, and events), and OSN+ by Anghami (with both Arabic and Hollywood content).
The trio bundle costs AED89.99 per month, which is the price of two of the streaming services.

Once a pariah, Saudi Arabia is now Hollywood’s hot cash source
As a movie reviewer, I’m watching with interest how Saudi Arabia is becoming a major player in Hollywood. Their recent investments aren’t just significant; they feel like a really bold attempt to establish a strong presence in the American entertainment world. It’s a move that could reshape the industry as we know it.
Disney+, Shahid, and MBC Group have partnered with a common goal: to lead the evolution of entertainment in the rapidly growing Middle Eastern market, according to Karl Holmes, Disney+ EMEA’s senior vice president and general manager.
Disney has already indicated it plans to grow in the Middle East.
Earlier this year, Disney announced plans to build a new theme park in Abu Dhabi. They’re partnering with Miral, a local company that will fund the project, handle construction, and manage day-to-day operations. Disney will be responsible for the park’s design, provide its popular characters and stories, offer its operational knowledge, and receive a percentage of the revenue.
Disney leaders explained that expanding into the Middle East would allow them to connect with audiences who weren’t easily reached by their existing locations in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
