As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for AR-based adventures and all things Disney, I must say that the upcoming release of Disney Step has me more than a little intrigued! Having grown up with the enchantment of Mickey Mouse and friends, the idea of stepping into their world in my own neighborhood is nothing short of magical.

For fans of AR games, there’s a new Disney title worth watching – Disney Step, an upcoming augmented reality treasure hunt game slated for release in Spring 2025. At this point, details about the game are scarce, but it seems Japan will be its initial destination

The treasures you find could potentially reward you with in-game Disney items as prizes

In this game, the playstyle seems reminiscent of Pokemon GO, as you’ll need to venture out into your real-world environment to earn in-game rewards. However, unlike Pokemon GO, there won’t be a battling system present. Instead, Disney Step appears to offer a more laid-back, family-friendly gaming experience tailored for younger players. In this game, you’ll have the company of beloved Disney characters such as Mickey Mouse and his friends, who will help guide you in your treasure hunting adventures

From my perspective as a gamer, it seems like the highly-anticipated Disney Step is currently set for a Japan-only release.
