Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away: Everything we know about Magic Kingdom’s new nighttime parade
As a gamer with countless hours spent navigating virtual worlds, I can say that the announcement of Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away at Magic Kingdom has me more hyped than clearing a boss level on my favorite game. The return of a nighttime parade to this iconic theme park is like unlocking a secret bonus stage in the game of life.
2025 marks the return of a nighttime parade at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, which hasn’t had one for quite some time. Earlier this year, it was announced that a new nighttime parade is scheduled to debut in summer 2025.
At D23: The Grand Disney Fan Celebration back in August, a glimpse was given into the forthcoming parade, now officially titled “Disney Starlight: Dream Through the Night“. Here are the details available so far about this eagerly awaited spectacle.
What is Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away?
As a devoted fan, I’m absolutely thrilled by the prospect of the new show, Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away. It’s inspired by the timeless charm of the Main Street Electrical Parade, promising to breathe life into the magic of the Blue Fairy with cutting-edge technology. The stories it tells about beloved characters are sure to captivate us all!
Disney has already confirmed that popular characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios such as Peter Pan, Encanto, Frozen, Moana, and others will be featured. These beloved figures will shine in an entirely fresh perspective… quite literally. The parade’s brilliant lights will dance in the darkness, transforming the night into a captivating canvas illuminated by glowing hues.
Every float and character outfit in the procession will be enchanted with the Blue Fairy’s magical glow from starlight.
🎇 Exciting News! “Disney Starlight” – a brand new nighttime parade – will be making its debut at the Magic Kingdom in 2025, exclusively at @WaltDisneyWorld! Keep an eye out for updates with #D23 and #Horizons.

When is Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away premiering?
Disney hasn’t specified an exact date yet, but they have confirmed that “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away” will premiere at the Magic Kingdom during summer 2025. Given that it’s summer, you can anticipate this event to occur quite late in the evening.
Is the Festival of Fantasy daytime parade ending in 2025?
Currently, there’s no intention to discontinue the Festival of Fantasy parade that takes place during the daytime at Magic Kingdom. As a result, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy not just one, but two parades in a single day at Magic Kingdom!
Will Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away replace the Happily Ever After fireworks spectacular at Magic Kingdom?
Disney hasn’t announced plans to stop the “Happily Ever After” event, and it would be quite an oversight if they did given its popularity at the Magic Kingdom. Instead, it seems likely that “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away” will coexist with “Happily Ever After.” If you remember, the Magic Kingdom previously had a nighttime parade followed by a fireworks show, so this could be a reversion to the park’s traditional format.
It’s uncertain whether it’ll be a nighttime parade reminiscent of old times, but just the prospect of having a nighttime event is thrilling enough!
