Disney has temporarily halted work on their upcoming live-action reboot of Snow White, as it underperformed at the cinema.
The re-imagined 1937 animated original has earned around $150 million at global box offices so far, with an estimated production budget as high as $270 million.
Critical reception for the movie hasn’t been overwhelmingly favorable; it even includes our review, resulting in ‘Snow White’ currently holding a 40% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the production of the live-action remake of Tangled, initially announced in December 2024, has been temporarily halted.
The movie isn’t necessarily being scrapped, but Disney is considering various possibilities, which may involve a potential overhaul of the creative aspects.
When it was revealed that a live-action version of the film Tangled would be produced, the director of The Greatest Showman and Better Man, Michael Gracey, was appointed for the project, with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who has collaborated on Thor: Love and Thunder, taking care of the screenplay.
As a gaming enthusiast excitedly looking forward to the upcoming months, I can’t help but share my anticipation for Disney’s live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch. This beloved tale is set to hit the big screen next month, and from what I’ve seen in the latest trailer, it’s shaping up to be an absolute gem! The buzz among fans has been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the upcoming film as “perfect”.
Additionally, a real-life adaptation of the animated film Moana is underway, featuring Dwayne Johnson once again as the character Maui. Filming for this project started towards the end of last year.
New versions of “Hercules”, “The Aristocats”, “Robin Hood”, and “Bambi” are rumored to be under development, but specifics regarding these upcoming projects have not been disclosed just yet.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve been eagerly waiting for the live-action Snow White movie to hit the big screen! It’s currently showing in cinemas, and here’s an exciting piece of news: I reckon it’ll make its way to Disney+ around late June or early July. So, mark your calendars if you don’t want to miss this magical adventure!
