Disney finally casts live-action Tangled after Gigi Hadid auditioned for Rapunzel role

Disney has chosen the actors who will star in the live-action remake of Tangled. Model Gigi Hadid was among those who auditioned for the role of Rapunzel.

Teagan Croft, a 21-year-old Australian actress, will play Rapunzel, and Milo Manheim, 24, will star as Flynn Rider, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

For months, social media has been buzzing with guesses about who might play the characters in the movie, and some fans have even suggested Sabrina Carpenter.

The upcoming project is based on the popular 2010 film, which originally starred Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi as its main characters.

Disney revealed plans in December 2024 to create a live-action adaptation of the animated film.

Michael Gracey, known for directing films like The Greatest Showman, will direct the movie, and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson wrote the screenplay.

According to reports, the final auditions for the actors who will play Rapunzel and Flynn Rider were held in London just before the holidays last month.

Other cast details for characters such as Mother Gothel have yet to be announced.

Gigi Hadid recently shared that she tried out for the role of Rapunzel in the live-action movie.

In a Vogue interview, the model revealed she had singing lessons to get ready for her audition.

Hadid shared with her friend Kendall Jenner, who was also part of the photoshoot, that she felt really good about how her part of the shoot turned out.

I expected them to hire a professional singer, and I’ll share a video of my audition with you later.
