As a huge Disney fan, I was really excited to see some new permit filings! It looks like Walt Disney Imagineering is adding a little snack kiosk to Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Basically, Disney is making things even more convenient for guests in that area of the park – more places to grab a bite! It’s always great to see them expanding guest amenities, especially in such a popular land.
A Notice of Commencement has been submitted for the property located at 149 Ascot Drive in Lake Buena Vista. This address is within Toy Story Land, close to the entrance of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
The kiosk will be located next to the restroom building and directly across from the Alien Swirling Saucers ride. This spot is where the Toy Story Land marquee used to be, before it was taken down around July 2025. It’s a familiar area for guests.

For the past few weeks, construction walls and screens have been up around the area. These barriers have been getting bigger and more extensive over time.
The permit details the project as “installation of set elements,” a term Disney frequently uses in its initial paperwork. This usually means building themed exteriors or decorative details, not just standard construction. The permit also lists Mecca Productions, Inc. as the company doing the work and states the project will last for one year.
Permits were previously issued in this location to companies called Icarus Exhibits and Aim Strategic Group for similar work.
As much as I’ve been keeping an eye out, Disney hasn’t officially said a word about that Toy Story snack kiosk yet. I’m dying to know what goodies they’ll be serving, but they’re keeping everything under wraps – even the name! It’s frustrating, but I guess we’ll just have to wait for an official announcement. I’m constantly checking Disney Food Blog for updates, though!
Context
Adding a new snack kiosk would give guests more places to quickly grab food in Toy Story Land. Currently, the land has two main restaurants: Woody’s Lunch Box (quick service) and Roundup Rodeo BBQ (table service), which opened in 2023. While the recent addition of more seating near Woody’s Lunch Box has helped, some feedback indicates that the demand for quick meals still exceeds the current capacity.

Some people believe the new kiosk is intended to reduce crowding and offer quicker food and drink options in a busy area of the park. It’s worth noting that new construction barriers have gone up near the area where Toy Story Land meets Galaxy’s Edge, specifically where temporary seating used to be. These walls are very close to where the kiosk was permitted, suggesting that the surrounding space might be redesigned to improve how guests move through the area or to add more places to sit.
There isn’t a firm schedule available after the initial one‑year permit. Assuming everything stays on track, the project might be finished around 2026, but this depends on whether any delays occur. More information will be available as the project progresses.

Over the next few months, we might learn more details – like finalized permits, site plans, or an official statement – about the building’s design, what will be on the menu, or when it’s expected to open.
