Disney earmarks veteran director Paul King to revive classic character
As a seasoned movie enthusiast with years of experience under my belt, I must say that I am quite intrigued by the news of Paul King taking the director’s chair for the upcoming adaptation of “Peter Pan.” Having worked on projects like Wonka and Paddington 2, it seems Mr. King has a knack for bringing beloved children’s stories to life in unique and endearing ways.
Disney is working on a film centered around the character Prince Charming with director Paul King.
The 46-year-old British screenwriter is working together with Simon Barnaby and Jon Croker on a movie script, as reported by Deadline.
The main plot of the upcoming movie remains undisclosed for now, and it’s unclear whether the film will be an animation or a live-action production, according to reports.

King’s directing credits include 2023’s Wonka, 2014’s Paddington and its 2017 sequel Paddington 2.
The film featuring Timothée Chalamet as Wonka was a major hit for Warner Bros., raking in an impressive $218 million at the domestic box office and an astounding $634 million globally, according to Box Office Mojo.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I can confidently say that both cinematic adventures of Paddington have truly captivated audiences. The 2014 film alone garnered an impressive $76 million at the domestic box office, while its global earnings soared to a staggering $332 million.
The sequel brought in $40 million in domestic box office and $283 million worldwide.
A third installment in the franchise, Paddington in Peru, lists King as an executive producer.
King was previously linked to the 2022 Pinocchio movie that Robert Zemeckis ultimately directed.
