As a lifelong Disney enthusiast who has been following their releases since my childhood, I must say that the upcoming collection for Moana 2 is nothing short of enchanting! The vibrant colors, intricate details, and imaginative designs truly transport us back to the magical world of Oceania.
It’s surprising how quickly ten years have passed since Moana first embarked on her voyage and enchanted viewers worldwide. Yet, we’re thrilled that our beloved Disney character will soon return to the silver screen, launching into an exhilarating new part of her tale!
On this occasion, Moana embarks on a new seafaring journey, not only accompanied by Maui and Heihei this time.
In the first movie, Moana embarks on an extraordinary journey where she truly discovers her role as a navigator. When creating the sequel, it was crucial for us that we didn’t change who Moana is at her core, but instead broadened her universe. We began to ponder what new challenges and leadership aspirations awaited Moana in this film. It seemed fitting to include a crew on this voyage, and the team we envisioned, while not the best in the world, certainly adds an enjoyable dynamic and puts Moana’s leadership skills to the test, as the director and co-writer, Dana Ledoux Miller hinted during a sneak peek of the new merchandise for Moana 2.
As Moana is now accompanied by both fresh and recognizable companions, the upcoming sequel promises to delve into various aspects of her personality, offering intriguing glimpses into what lies ahead for this remarkable character.
In the initial movie, Moana’s bond with her grandmother was crucial. Interestingly, her grandma reappears in the sequel, Moana 2, and shares a significant statement that forms the heart of this film. She tells Moana, “You never stop deciding who you are.” Miller hinted at this. As Moana is summoned by her ancestors for another grand adventure, she must grapple with the idea that she’s constantly evolving. Despite the difficulty of leaving her loved ones behind, particularly her little sister, she must ponder what she desires for her sister’s future, which ultimately drives her to set sail on the ocean once more.
People are excited to rejoin Moana, Maui, Heihei, and Pua on their upcoming journey, and we’re equally thrilled to introduce the movie’s new characters, particularly Moana’s younger sister Simea, who has already captured hearts in the film’s previews. As we prepare for our voyage back to the waters to discover how far Moana will travel in this fresh adventure, Disney is making it convenient to extend the journey off-screen with a variety of new products inspired by “Moana 2” set to arrive later this year.
In a joyful expression of excitement, Miller emphasized that he was brought up on Disney classics like “Beauty and The Beast,” “The Lion King,” and “The Little Mermaid.” These films ignited his creativity, and he believes it’s crucial and thrilling to extend this experience with Moana as well. He looks forward to fans continuing their adventure at home once they have the new Moana 2 merchandise in their possession!

As a passionate gamer and collector, I’m thrilled to share that Funko has got some fresh Pop! figures lined up for us, perfectly timed with the film’s release! One of the highly-anticipated additions is none other than a brand-new Maui Pop! figure. But wait, there’s more – they’re also introducing a new Moana Pop!, and guess who’ll be tagging along? None other than Moana’s sister Simea, in the form of an adorable mini figure! Can’t wait to add these to my collection!
