The last Star Wars show planned for Disney+ in 2025 will feature the return of several strong Force users. While the Jedi have always been the main heroes in the Star Wars galaxy, fans are especially excited about the upcoming return of Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures. This show offers a fresh, more relaxed take on the Jedi story, focusing on young characters.
Set in the High Republic period, Young Jedi Adventures follows young Jedi students as they train with the popular Master Yoda, learning to use the Force. Season 3 will be the last Star Wars release of 2025, and also the show’s final season. This makes the challenges facing the main characters – Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay, and Nubs – particularly important.
Every Jedi Returning in Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures Season 3
Kai Brightstar
Kai Brightstar is essentially the leader of the young Jedi trainees in Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures. He’s enthusiastic about learning the ways of the Force and really wants to make a good impression on Master Yoda. Kai is also very determined to prove himself, but this can sometimes cause him to act impulsively and get himself and his friends into trouble.
Season 3 of Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures will likely focus on what happens after pirates attack the Jedi Temple on Tenoo while the adult Jedi are away. During the attack, Kai showed strong leadership skills and impressive lightsaber abilities, demonstrating he can lead the other young Jedi.
It’s worth noting that Kai was originally from Hosnian Prime, which later served as the capital world of the New Republic.
Lys Solay
Lys Solay is a young Pantoran and the best friend of Kai Brighstar in the Star Wars animated series Young Jedi Adventures (now renewed for a third season). Lys is special – she has a deep connection with the animals on the planet Tenoo, making her more than just a typical Jedi. While she always tries to follow the rules, she often finds herself helping her friends, Kai and Nubs, when their adventurous (and sometimes reckless) plans get them into trouble.
In Season 3, Lys’s cautious and thoughtful approach is crucial for overcoming tougher opponents, including a droid maker named Rek Minuu.
Nubs
Nubs is arguably the cutest young Jedi in Young Jedi Adventures. He’s very close to Kai and Lys, often sticking by their sides. Beyond his skills with the Force, Nubs is incredibly strong, which comes in handy when the team faces lots of challenges on their missions.
A quick glimpse in a trailer for Young Jedi Adventures Season 3 revealed that we’ll eventually see an adult version of the character Nubs. This suggests the series might follow these young Jedi as they grow up to become masters during the High Republic period, training a new generation of Jedi.
Master Yoda
Fans of Young Jedi Adventures often see Master Yoda, who leads the Jedi Council and helps Kai Brightstar and his friends. Because this takes place when Yoda is a powerful Jedi Master during the High Republic Era, he uses his deep understanding of the Force and skill with a lightsaber to help these young Jedi reach their full potential.
In Young Jedi Adventures, Yoda gives the young Jedi trainees special missions to help them grow and show what they’re capable of.
Wes Vinik
Wes Vinik is a smart and courageous Padawan learning from Master Zia Zanna in Young Jedi Adventures. A skilled pilot, Wes often takes the lead and helps the younglings when the adult Jedi aren’t available.
The season finale showed that Wes and Celesta Kami have been friends since childhood, as they trained together when they were young. This connection between them is likely to be a major focus in Season 3.
Celesta Kami
Celesta Kami is a Jedi Padawan learning from Master Carver Drow. She trains on the planet Batuu and frequently appears in Young Jedi Adventures, where she helps the young Jedi on their missions.
The season finale showed Celesta responding to Kai Brightstar’s plea for help when pirates attacked Tenoo, establishing her as a dependable ally to the younglings in danger. She skillfully fought off several pirates, and her impressive combat abilities were later noticed by her master when he arrived to help.
Master Zia
During the High Republic era, with Yoda leading the Jedi Council and potentially concealing a secret, Master Zia Zanna is a Jedi Master from the planet Tenoo. She trains young Jedi in the ways of the Force and is the mentor of Wes Vinik.
Master Zia has formed a close relationship with Kai, Lys, and Nubs, and believes they have the potential to become Jedi Knights. Although she was away on a secret mission during the Season 2 finale, she returned to let them know she’ll always support them. Season 3 promises to further explore her connection with Wes Vinik and the other younglings.
