Disco Elysium Studio ZA/UM Unveils ‘Project [C4]’, an Espionage RPG Thriller
The creators of Disco Elysium, ZA/UM, have revealed Project [C4], an intriguing role-playing game (RPG) focused on espionage and spy thrillers, which seems to delve into similar psychological realms as their prior work.
In Project [C4], you’ll assume the role of an undercover agent dispatched by a powerful global entity, undertaking covert operations to expose secrets and expand influence. The setting is unique yet reminiscent of familiar environments. Collaboration with your team will be crucial as you navigate the dangerous world of espionage, where betrayal or death could be just around the corner. Additionally, the psychological pressure of spy work will gradually intensify.
As a gamer, I’ll be immersed in a world where my character can manipulate reality using mind-bending substances. The gameplay involves tossing dice and making dialogue decisions, with the understanding that failure is just part of the thrilling espionage experience. It’s refreshing to find a game that delves into this genre, offering an unpolished, gritty perspective on being a spy – a rarity in today’s gaming landscape.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m eagerly waiting for more updates on Project [C4], hoping it will reveal the platforms it’s coming to and a release window. Meanwhile, the talented team at Longdue, formerly of ZA/UM, are crafting their own successor to Disco Elysium, named Hopetown. Their Kickstarter campaign is set to go live next week!
