Justine Triet, the director of Anatomy of a Fall, is assembling the cast for her upcoming thriller, Fonda. According to Deadline, Mia Goth (Frankenstein), Andrew Scott (Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery), Frank Dillane (Urchin), and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett (Down Cemetery Road) are already confirmed to star. Oscar winner Allison Janney (I, Tonya) is also in talks for a significant role. Interestingly, Triet was initially planning a supporting role for Mia Goth but was so impressed that she gave her the lead.
I’m so excited about this new film, Fonda! It’s going to be a psychological thriller, and from what I’ve heard, it’s set in this really contained, almost perfect-looking world. Apparently, it’s all about how grief and obsession can mess with your head, pushing you to your limits. Fionnuala Jamison from mk2 Films says it’s going to be a really powerful and smart thriller, and they’re hoping it will be a big awards contender and do well in theaters. It’s even being made by the same team behind Anatomy of a Fall, which I loved, and Studiocanal is also involved, so I have high hopes!
Studiocanal CEO Anna Marsh also stated that Justine Triet is a truly unique filmmaker, and the cast of Fonda is outstanding. They are excited to release the film in the territories they announced today, and were immediately captivated by the script, recognizing it as a powerful and memorable return for Triet to the world of cinema.
What Mia Goth and Andrew Scott Bring to the Table

Netflix
Following her successful collaboration with Sandra Hüller, director Justine Triet is casting two promising Hollywood actors in her new film, Fonda. One of those actors is Jenna Ortega, who is currently gaining significant recognition, especially after working with acclaimed director Guillermo del Toro on his latest project. Ortega has already collaborated with a remarkable list of directors, including Luca Guadagnino (Suspiria), Lars von Trier (Nymphomaniac), Claire Denis (High Life), Ti West (X trilogy), Christopher Nolan (The Odyssey), and Shawn Levy (Star Wars: Starfighter). Given that she’s only 32, Ortega has quickly built an impressive career working with some of the industry’s best.

As a huge movie fan, I’ve been following Andrew Scott’s career closely. He just finished the third Knives Out film, which MovieWeb called the best one yet! And even though he’s worked with amazing directors like Richard Linklater on Blue Moon and Andrew Haigh on the incredibly moving All of Us Strangers, I think he’s truly blown everyone away in Netflix’s black and white series, Ripley. Now I’m so curious to see what director Justine Triet has in store for him – those eyes are just captivating, and I can’t wait to see how she uses them!
