Diplo makes wild claim he dated both Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau

Diplo raised eyebrows as he weighed in on new couple Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau.

The 46-year-old DJ surprisingly revealed on the Smart Girl Dumb Questions podcast that he previously dated both Katy Perry, 41, and Justin Trudeau, 53.

‘And now Katy Perry is dating Justin,’ Diplo said. ‘Pretty fire,’ he continued.

‘I know so many people who like kind of,’ host Nayeema Raza began before Diplo interjected.

‘Dated Katy Perry, like me?’ Diplo said. 

‘I did,’ he elaborated. (The podcast has since clarified he was joking).

‘I meant Trudeau,’ Raza said.

He also mentioned dating Justin Trudeau, but said it was a strange experience because he generally isn’t attracted to people in politics.

‘I think he’s hot,’ Raza continued.

‘He is kind of hot,’ Diplo said.

The podcast later clarified Diplo was just joking about dating Trudeau.

‘He dated Trudeau????’ one fan commented on the podcast’s YouTube video. 

‘Lol he’s making a joke,’ the podcast responded. 

The Daily Mail has contacted both Perry’s representatives and Trudeau via Instagram for comment.  

While the Trudeau romance was all a joke, Diplo was indeed linked to Perry back in 2014.  

The pair was seen together in New York City, but sources at E! News disagreed about whether they were still dating.

The singer was surprised to see a fan with a marriage proposal sign, but she reminded everyone that she’s already in a relationship.

In a video posted to TikTok, she shared that a man was proposing to her, and she could see he was holding a ring.

The singer emphatically stated she is currently in a relationship, responding to questions while on her worldwide Lifetimes Tour.

Katy Perry and the politician reportedly began dating after they were spotted having dinner together at Le Violon in Montreal last July.

The couple recently revealed they are dating while celebrating Katy Perry’s 41st birthday in Paris.

Perry is newly-single following the end of her long-term relationship with Orlando Bloom.

The duo, who share five-year-old daughter Daisy together, announced their split earlier this year.  

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, separated in 2023. They share one daughter, Ella-Grace Margaret Trudeau, who is 16 years old.

Katy Perry subtly revealed her connection with Justin Trudeau by sharing a birthday post on Instagram Tuesday.

The Dark Horse songstress shared photos and clips as she excitedly rung in turning one year older.

The performer, who celebrated her 41st birthday on October 25th, shared a video clip of herself blowing out candles on a cake covered in frosting.

As she finished blowing out the candles on her cake, Justin Trudeau could be seen in the distance, smiling and applauding the singer.
