Design studio based in Milan, Dimore Studio, has been commissioned to create a lavish Italian rail journey titled “La Dolce Vita” for Orient Express. Taking cues from iconic Italian design masters and the vibrant era of the 1960s, this train boasts sophisticated interiors that seamlessly blend classic luxury train charm with modern panache.
This train offers 18 suites, 12 deluxe rooms, and one La Dolce Vita suite, all meticulously designed with opulent textiles, bold color schemes, and lavish wooden and metallic details. The company behind this venture, established by Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran, infuses its elegant design ethos into the comfortable suites. The deluxe rooms boast mirrored back walls and wooden slat ceilings, complete with a sofa that transforms into a double bed, and a private bathroom. The suite rooms do not skimp on luxury either, offering a sofa, table with two armchairs, and vibrant splashes of orange, terracotta, and purple.

Beyond enjoying exquisite meals prepared by three-Michelin-starred Chef Heinz Beck, the restaurant also provides a space to savor more of the Italian spirit. Guests can extend their Italian experience through communal lounges, where they’ll find a jewel-box atmosphere with chrome-coated walls, striped carpeting on the floor and walls, and seats reminiscent of the 1950s upholstered in vibrant orange leather.
The Orient Express’s Sweet Life Journeys provides eight unique Italian travel options, such as visiting Tuscan vineyards, exploring Venice and Portofino, or traveling from Rome to Sicily. Each experience is carefully designed to offer cultural, historical, and culinary encounters specific to each location along the way.
