Story Highlights

  • Digimon: Source Code is now live in China with next-gen visuals with PBR.
  • Hatch Digi-Eggs with no stamina limits and casual mini-games are part of gameplay.
  • Details about global release hasn’t been revealed yet.

The “Digimon: Source Code” game, developed by Bandai Namco, has now been released on mobile devices, though it’s currently only accessible in China. This turn-based RPG offers more than just battles; the creators mention that there are exploration mechanics and idle elements included as well.

Originating from the studios of Bandai Namco (Shanghai) and Kingnet, and endorsed by Toei Animation, Digimon: Source Code has made significant strides since its China-restricted beta launch in 2021 and gameplay unveiling at ChinaJoy in 2023.

Classic Digimon like WarGreymon, Rosemon, and MetalGarurumon will be appearing in the game

This game immerses you once more in the core of the Digital World, offering a blend of nostalgia and cutting-edge graphics. With the help of advanced Physically Based Rendering technology, Digimon appear as realistic, expressive, and lively creatures across varied landscapes such as forests, snowy mountains, deserts, and ruins.

According to the site information, you’re allowed to roam around freely without any endurance restrictions. Instead of relying on the gacha system, you can discover Digi-Eggs as you traverse the map, which significantly simplifies completing your Digimon collection without the need for additional funds.

In a twist, battles now offer more than just straightforward clashes due to the introduction of the “Overload” system, which allows you to deploy potent abilities at critical moments. Moreover, some Digimon have the ability to join forces for collaborative attacks. Notably, familiar Digimon like WarGreymon, Rosemon, and MetalGarurumon are included in this updated version.

If you’re from China and interested in trying out the game Digimon: Source Code, you can download it on Android or iOS devices directly from the official website. At present, there seems to be no global release planned, but should that change, make sure to check back here for further announcements.
