Diddy witness Courtney Burgess fires back at his sons amid legal battle over rights to Kim Porter’s alleged diary

As an ardent fan of the intricate web of Hollywood drama, I find myself utterly captivated by this enthralling saga unfolding between Courtney Burgess and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ sons, Christian and Quincy Brown. The tale of a tell-all book, copyright disputes, and alleged exploitation of a late loved one’s fame is akin to a riveting page-turner that I simply can’t put down!

In response to the cease-and-desist order filed by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ sons, Christian Combs and Quincy Brown, Courtney Burgess, who served as a witness in Diddy’s trial, countered with a retort.

Earlier, Combs’ sons united to issue a stop-and-warn notice to Burgess, following his act of marketing an unsanctioned memoir claimed to be penned by the late Kim Porter, their mother.

It was stated that Burgess intends to exploit the fame of their deceased mother through the sale of a book called “Kim Porter: Speak Your Truth,” or something similar.

In response, Burgess, acting as a witness for the investigative court in the trial of the discredited media tycoon, made a deliberate remark through a document filed by his lawyer, Ariel Mitchell.

Burgess countered by stating that Porter was neither an actor nor an entertainer; instead, her claim to fame primarily stemmed from her long-term relationship with the media magnate, as reported by TMZ.

According to Burgess, he holds the copyright for the book, stating that prior to her passing in 2018, Porter granted him ownership of her creative works.

His assertion contradicts the statement made earlier by Christian and Quincy, who claimed that they inherited and legally owned all intellectual property rights, such as her alleged diary entries, upon their mother’s death, making them the rightful heirs to these possessions.

Regarding Burgess’ reported past acquaintance with Porter, his legal representative Mitchell mentioned to TMZ that they had known each other in the past, having been introduced by a common friend who was a music producer.

Mitchell asserts that Porter shared with Burgess, during a conversation over the phone, her intention to provide him with a copy of her memoir. This is believed to be the means by which he acquired the disputed diary entries and the rights to disseminate them.

This occurs following the reported meeting between Burgess and federal prosecutors in New York City, concerning the ongoing case involving Combs.

Burgess previously claimed he possessed explicit tapes showing encounters involving celebrities.

During the ongoing trial of Combs, it appears that authorities took possession of Burgess’s phone as part of their investigation, since it held a duplicate of the flash drive information connected to Porter’s book.

Christian and Quincy further shared with Burgess their desire for a detailed report on any earnings he might have garnered from the book.

In the meantime, Burgess referred to their cease-and-desist as a “desperate tactic,” which he claimed was devised by their father in an attempt to demand money.

To put it personally, I can’t help but echo Burgess’ sentiments: “This feeble effort serves as a stark reminder of the grim financial straits that Diddy and his boys find themselves in.

Late last month, Burgess testified before the grand jury in the Southern District of New York.

He asserted that he received a total of 11 USB drives, each holding at least one explicit video featuring eight different celebrities.

Among those who were Combs’ alleged victims, Burgess claimed ‘two to three’ were minors.

As I went about my day in vibrant Atlanta, my one-time colleague, Porter, confided in me by handing over a pair of intriguing USB drives.

Additionally, he mentioned that he obtained an original, unaltered draft of a supposed memoir by Porter, titled “Kim’s Misplaced Words: A Quest for Justice from Beyond.

Concerning the allegations made against him, Combs denied any wrongdoing when faced with federal charges of sex trafficking, as stated in a document presented as evidence following his arrest on September 16th.

The accusations encompass claims that he forced and mistreated numerous women over a long period, with his accomplices and workers offering assistance. He is also alleged to have suppressed victims by threatening them with blackmail and violent acts such as abduction, arson, and brutal assaults.

Despite being in prison, he is scheduled for his criminal trial by May 5. His plea for bail was rejected by two judges, and now that decision is being challenged at the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Most recently, he requested bail for the third time.
