Diddly Squat farmhand Harriet Cowan poses with her new fans at Staffordshire County Show after breaking her silence on ‘fake’ Clarkson’s Farm scene
At the Staffordshire County Show on Thursday, Harriet Cowan, a recent addition to the Diddly Squat farm team, was spotted interacting and taking photos with her new admirers.
As a devoted admirer, I casually wandered the grounds, my eyes taking in every detail – from the grazing livestock to the robust tractors – all while clad in my white T-shirt and trusty blue denims, age 24 on this fine day.
On a sunny day out, multiple admirers approached Harriet for a photograph. One of them posted on Instagram, expressing, “Made my day.
The Stafford County Fair, taking place on the 28th and 29th of May, 2025, is a two-day event showcasing agricultural exhibitions featuring livestock and horse competitions. It also boasts over 400 trade booths and an area dedicated to country pursuits that offers activities suitable for the entire family.
After breaking her silence, Harriet recently discussed a supposedly false scene from Clarkson’s Farm on a newly released podcast this week, which led to the outing of the event.

Viewers of the massively watched Amazon Prime Video series were taken aback when she made an appearance in the trailer for season four, following a temporary absence of Jeremy’s fellow actor Kaleb Cooper from the show.
She’s been assisting Jeremy with a variety of chores on the farm, all while captivating audiences and defying traditional notions about women in agriculture.
This week Harriet appeared on the Should I Delete That podcast with Jeremy’s daughter Emily.
She mentioned a specific scene from the trailer that appeared unrealistic when she rewatched it, but surprisingly, it turned out to be entirely accurate.
On their podcast, they talked about the hectic schedules of farmers and how Harriet, too, works as a full-time nurse for five days a week.
Emily inquired about whether you often spend leisure time with your partner or share meals together. She seems to find it hard to believe that this isn’t common practice.
Later on, Harriet expressed: “Not at all! In the promo, when they ask, ‘Have you seen Clarkson’s Farm previously?’ My response was negative. Upon watching it, it seemed incredibly unrealistic to me.
‘But it is so real because we don’t watch telly.

As a devoted observer, I must mention that if given the chance to watch something, James tends to tire quickly and often dozes off. His exhaustion is such that as soon as there’s an opportunity for rest, he promptly falls asleep, his head usually resting against the back of the sofa.
On the podcast Harriet also spoke about breaking stereotypes of women working in farming.
She mentioned about being on the show, saying, “I aimed to demonstrate that women are equally capable; they’re present, just not always visible. Women can certainly handle it.
‘Most people think of just older men wearing checked shirts when it comes to farming.
I’m breaking stereotypes about what a typical farmer looks like, leaving people astonished when they see me operating the tractor from their cars. They can’t help but gawk at me as they pass by.
In the latest preview for Clarkson’s Farm, Jeremy encountered various challenges on the farm. However, TikTok sensation Harriet left a positive impact with her swift assistance.
Jeremy was left in awe at her work, turning to the camera and gushing: ‘She’s brilliant!’
Without hesitation, she was willing to work with dirt on her hands, setting up fences, providing feed for livestock, and demonstrating her welding expertise at the Diddly Squat Farm.

Harriet, who works as both a nurse and a farmer, openly acknowledged in the video that she hadn’t seen any episodes of Clarkson Farm prior. However, this lack of past viewings didn’t deter her from moving forward.
Jeremy was left in awe at her work, turning to the camera and gushing: ‘She’s brilliant!’
After completing a country-wide tour, it appeared that Kaleb adjusted smoothly upon his return to the farm, seemingly comfortable with his successor.
It’s no wonder that Harriet became so adept at farming since she spent her childhood assisting her dad, Eddy, in taking care of his fields.
On social media, she shared that while her mother wished for her to pursue nursing, her father desired the same path he had taken – a career choice he hoped she’d follow. In the end, she decided to combine both aspirations.
Harriet’s social media presence is thriving, with an impressive 35,000 TikTok followers. Her Instagram bio invites her supporters to tune in for some fun and excitement.
She also has a brand deal with Country Moos, a sock company dedicated to cow-print designs.
Harriet is in a romantic partnership with farmer James, often appearing affectionately in a series of delightful photos on their social media accounts.

2020 saw Harriet making news as she and her companions initiated a campaign aimed at boosting the spirits of National Health Service personnel amidst the pandemic.
The Belper Young Farmers team creatively adapted the popular online “toilet paper challenge.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’d share an intriguing scene I recently witnessed: A close-knit group and I, while tending to our shared plot of earth, engaged in a simple yet symbolic exchange – passing a loaf of bread among us. This gesture, as mundane as it may seem, embodies the spirit of community, unity, and mutual support that underpins our lifestyle.
In an interview with Derbyshire Live, 19-year-old Harriet shared her thoughts on creating videos, stating: “I felt it was important for us to come up with a project that would bring everyone closer together since our club can’t gather due to the coronavirus.
Instead, we opted for a unique approach when we came across the online task. Unlike others, we chose not to follow the trend of using toilet paper in our solution.
Last week Jeremy finally confirmed the future of co-star Kaleb on the Prime Video series.
The new season of Diddly Squat Farm aired on May 23, and two more episodes were made available on May 30. The last two episodes came out on June 6.
Following a lot of anticipation, it has been verified that Jeremy, aged 65, found Kaleb resuming his regular duties on the farm again, with Harriet taking care of things in his absence.
In a video shared on Instagram on Tuesday, he made it clear that there’s been much talk about Kaleb being “replaced” – but in fact, that isn’t the case.
He commented: “This is what transpired – he embarked on a speaking tour for approximately two months, under the assumption that, having served for four years, I would be capable of handling things independently.

Instead, let me clarify that the situation became quite chaotic, necessitating the assistance of a young farmer named Harriet.
‘Harriet is brilliant and looked after the fort until he got back. That is it – that’s the story!’
The popular series “Clarkson’s Farm” has garnered significant attention on Amazon Prime Video in the UK, with many commending it for shedding light on the importance of British agriculture.
The purchase of the land by Clarkson also kick-started Kaleb’s career. Prior to his ownership, Kaleb was already putting in work there, and he has since penned down three books.
It seems that Harriet, too, may well follow suit.
Clarkson’s Farm series one to three are available to stream exclusively on Prime Video.
In other words, starting May 23, four episodes will be broadcasted, with an extra pair coming out every seven days on May 30 and June 6 respectively, concluding the series on June 6.
