Abbie Chatfield caused some drama on The Golden Bachelor this week by questioning Barry ‘Bear’ Myrden about his feelings for her mother, Laura Neal.

Honestly, it was so uncomfortable to watch that influencer confront Bear! Everyone’s talking about it, and a lot of us think Abbie’s words really got to Bear and were the reason he decided to send her mom home. It just felt like a direct result of what she said, and it was pretty shocking to see.

During their argument, Abbie seemed glad Bear was from Canada, not the United States, and then surprisingly asked the 61-year-old, ‘Have you and my mom gone on a date?’

When Bear said he hadn’t, Abbie shot back: ‘Why haven’t you gone on a date with her yet?’

‘Still lots of time…’ the Golden Bachelor sheepishly replied. 

Unfortunately, Laura didn’t receive a rose and was eliminated, likely because she didn’t have enough time to connect with the lead.

After watching the awkward interaction, one person commented on social media, ‘I think he made his decision right then and there!’

Another branded the conversation as ‘the final nail in the coffin‘ for Laura.

‘I’d vote off a Chatfield too,’ someone else wrote.

‘[Abbie] being her daughter wouldn’t have helped AT ALL,’ another agreed.  

Someone else pointed out that her remark about Americans wasn’t well-thought-out, and she clearly doesn’t understand how Bear feels about it.

This news follows predictions from fans that Abbie could become an obstacle to Laura finding love on The Golden Bachelor.

Last week, Laura Neal joined the show and instantly surprised everyone by announcing she was Abbie’s mother.

Abbie is a well-known and often controversial figure. She’s famous for her strong opinions on feminism and politics, her public disagreements with others in the media, and her willingness to question conventional social expectations.

One viewer commented that if he disagreed with Abbie politically, their relationship wouldn’t last long.

Someone else commented, clearly with sarcasm, that his sons would probably enjoy spending Christmas with Abbie.

Someone else suggested Abbie’s behavior likely comes from her mother, and advised staying away from her as a result.
