Dick Van Dyke at 99: His Surprising Secret to Staying Fit Revealed!

In a recent conversation, Dick Van Dyke revealed the key to his physical wellness by discussing his workout regimen.

The actor, who’s 99, often gets queries about how he manages to stay so physically fit, considering he’s approaching his hundredth birthday.

On the “Where Everybody Knows Your Name” podcast, hosted by Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen, Dick Silver, accompanied by his wife Arlene, 53 years old, shared some enlightening thoughts.

He mentioned that when you consider it, he finds himself transported back to the year 1925, nearly reaching the century mark. It’s utterly unbelievable to him, so he plans on throwing a grand celebration.

Someone asked, ‘What factors contribute to your age and health status?’ To which I responded, ‘I’ve consistently prioritized regular exercise.’

‘Three days a week, we go to the gym, still. Three days a week.’

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I often find myself at the gym in Malibu, and it’s always amusing to me when I arrive early enough to catch a glimpse of you diligently working out on one of those weight machines.

After that, instead of walking to the next fitness equipment, you’d dance your way there, much like a form of rhythmic workout.

‘You literally danced to the next machine and I watched that for a couple of weeks.’

Van Dyke’s wife, Arlene added: ‘He still does that!’ 

Last month, due to exhaustion from attempting to put out the flames, Dick found himself having to crawl to his car during the frightening Malibu wildfire evacuation.

Instead of “The screen legend fled his home with Arlene and their animals,” you could say: “The movie star and Arlene, along with their pets, left their house.”

“Since then, they found Bobo, their missing cat, who ran away during the fire.

In his interview with a local news station featured on the Today show, Van Dyke expressed that the fire was originating from the nearby hill and was clearly visible. He exclaimed in surprise, “Oh my God,” before swiftly evacuating the area.

He shared that he had no other choice but to crawl to his vehicle, having drained all his energy while attempting to utilize a fire hose. Essentially, he explained that he was too tired to stand.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I found myself in an unexpected predicament when a small blaze ignited in my guesthouse. Remarkably, three of my neighbors sprang into action, rescuing me and swiftly extinguishing the fire. Their quick thinking and selfless actions saved both property and life that day.

He left fans devastated when he revealed his cat Bobo had gone missing during their evacuation.

On Wednesday, Dick posted on Facebook that Bobo had been located, and he even shared a picture of the grumpy cat during their reunion with his loved ones.

Upon our return home this morning, we immediately located Bobo. His disappearance had sparked such intrigue that Animal Control was enlisted for help.

‘But, thankfully he was easy to find and not harmed.’
