Dicero Gameplay Overview

Let’s begin with a gameplay overview so you understand how the game works. Dicero immediately puts you into a quick tutorial where you battle different enemies using dice rolls. It’s great how fast the game teaches you the fundamentals, like choosing enemies and combining dice for increased damage.

As you play, you’ll earn up to six Battle Dice, and you can add special abilities, like Sword Shadow, to them. At the start of each turn, you get three tries to reroll the dice and create a matching combination. If you match all the dice, they’ll glow purple and inflict maximum damage.

As you progress, you’ll earn skills with varying levels of power from sources like Treasures, the Toad Roulette, and the Angel. These abilities, including things like More Chances, Roll Surge, and Light of Redemption, can significantly impact how battles play out. I found the boss battles challenging, as the bosses are quite durable and many can heal themselves or add shields during their turns.

Introducing the Basics of Dicero

Gear

The Gear section lets you outfit your character with items like weapons, boots, and rings. It’s similar to Archero 2 in that each item has different rarity levels, and you can make them stronger by upgrading them. You can also combine duplicate items to create even more powerful versions with improved stats.

Outfits, such as the Winter Lord, offer more than just a new look – they also provide passive benefits and active skills. You can equip up to three skills with each outfit. Additionally, the Transmog section lets you unlock weapons themed around Frost, Lightning, and The Count’s Power, and each weapon can have up to six skills added to it.

Talents

The Talents system lets you improve your character’s stats as you play. You earn Gold during each run, which you can use to collect Talent cards. These cards come in different rarities, determined by a dice roll – staying true to the game’s core design. If you get multiple copies of the same card, you can upgrade it to make it even more powerful.

I love finding new talent cards! Like, the First Strike card is awesome because it lets you start each run with two Battle Dice instead of just one. Or, if I want to be super durable, I’ll grab the Sturdy card – it gives me an extra 8 HP right off the bat. There are tons of little boosts like that!

Star Challenge and Chapter Chest

You can earn rewards like Gold, Talent Crystals, and Gems by completing stages in Chapter Chest. Star Challenge lets you replay completed levels to earn more Gems. By meeting specific goals – such as finishing with over 40% health – and collecting enough stars, you’ll unlock even greater rewards.

Shop

The in-game Shop offers Stage Packs, Gear Chests, and Gems (our premium currency). You can use Gems to purchase unique Stage Packs that include rewards such as Royal Glory Keys and Sojourn Keys.

You can use Keys to open Royal Glory or Sojourn Chests for a chance to win powerful S-rank Epic equipment. Plus, completing more campaign chapters will give you access to three additional sections in the Shop.

Dicero Beginners Guide: Tips and Tricks

1. Focus on building strong dice combos

The main idea of this game is to combine dice to create powerful combos and increase your damage. Take your time with each roll – it’s better to aim for bigger combinations whenever you can. Even if the numbers are lower, getting a purple combination is worth it, as it will make defeating the bosses much easier.

2. Pick skills that actually help you

You’ll unlock many skills as you play, but not all of them will be helpful in every situation. Instead of choosing skills at random, it’s better to focus on a specific strategy, like maximizing Swordwave power or Greatsword damage. I prefer to collect skills that improve my Greatsword attacks.

3. Upgrade and fuse your gear regularly

Just like in Archero 2, good gear is key to success in this game. Always upgrade new gear as you find it and equip it right away. If you get duplicate items, combine them to make your gear even stronger.

4. Don’t forget about Talents

During your runs, be sure to spend all the Gold you earn on Talents. Talents like First Strike are especially helpful, giving you an extra Battle Dice at the beginning of each run. Dexterity and Direct Hit are also great choices, as they help you avoid attacks and increase your critical hit chance.

5. Replay levels for more rewards

If you’re having trouble with a specific part of the game, try playing the Star Challenge levels. You’ll earn helpful rewards like gems that can make it easier to move forward.

I’m really having fun with Dicero! It’s a unique take on combat that blends dice rolls with both luck and strategy. I initially doubted I’d enjoy it, but the tough bosses and progressively harder levels have completely changed my mind.
