Dianne Buswell’s Dad Makes Miraculous Recovery

Dianne Buswell shared some news about her father Mark’s health status following his heart operation, just a few days after she raised worry with an image of him in the hospital.

Over the past weekend, the Strictly Come Dancing professional, aged 35, posted a heartfelt Instagram picture featuring herself and her father, who was in a hospital bed. In the caption, she referred to him as her “superhero.

Initially, she didn’t mention the problem, but later on their podcast Winning Isn’t Everything (with Chris McCausland), she disclosed that her father had undergone open heart surgery after some issues were detected during his routine check-ups, which were necessary due to his past cancer battle.

The doctors expressed satisfaction with the pace of Mark’s recuperation since he had a double heart bypass, as the major artery supplying his heart was clogged.

Recently, Dianne made a fresh announcement on Thursday. She disclosed this time that her father, who she referred to as her champion, is now ambulating the hospital ward. Furthermore, she expressed admiration for his remarkable strength.

After his heart surgery, he’s moving about the ward as if he’s a victorious champ, my dear old dad who’s been through quite a rough patch these past 18 months. Yet, in classic Buswell fashion, he’s demonstrated courage and tenacity, which is truly heartwarming. ❤️

In addition to her post, Dianne also posted a photo showing her hugging her father in the hospital, where Mark was sportingly donning a hat supporting Dianne and Chris during their time on Strictly.

Additionally, she posted a picture showing her smiling with both her dad and mom, Rina, at the hospital, as the dancer enjoyed the warmth of a sunbeam.

Her post received numerous good wishes from her followers, who promptly expressed their hopes for a swift healing of her father’s health conditions.

Mark is truly a trooper! It’s heartwarming to see him wear his Chris and Diane cap. Wishing you all a lot of love!

Previously, Dianne shared candidly about the demanding and hectic period she experienced upon returning to Australia in a conversation with Chris (aged 47).

She mentioned that she was wearing a hat as a tribute to her father, the very same hat he donned when they were both rooting for them in the finale of Strictly Come Dancing in December.

She mentioned that she plans to don the item as a tribute to Mark today, since they are expected to discuss him quite extensively in the podcast.

After a brief detour, let me pick up where I left off: My flight has been rescheduled three times already to return home. In the short span of my vacation, which was initially intended for relaxation, I ended up attending a wedding in South Africa, a funeral, a christening, spent time in intensive care units on multiple occasions, and we’ve even been nominated for a BAFTA award.

Over the past period, there have been numerous highs and lows, making it quite an intense experience. At present, I’m still in Perth, temporarily staying at a hotel just 500 meters from the local hospital. The reason for my stay here is that my father is currently admitted in the hospital.

She then went on to discuss her dad’s open heart surgery.

Last April, Dianne announced joyfully that her dad completed his chemotherapy, having gone through a tough 12-round regimen.

In October 2023, the dancer wept on BBC’s show as she received the news that her father, Mark, had been diagnosed with cancer.

On Instagram, Dianne shared that her father had completed six months of treatment by symbolically ringing a bell.

Dianne posted a heartwarming video from last year’s visit with her dad, featuring photos and videos of them together, along with footage of him ringing the bell.

In a different phrasing, the message could read: ‘Six months after you started, and with twelve rounds completed, I’m incredibly proud of you! It’s been a challenging journey, but you’ve always approached it with resilience and a positive attitude.’ ❤️

Hey, I get that you were really nervous, and I can imagine how tough it was for you. But you pulled it off! I wish I could give you a big hug right now ❤️.

‘You’re my hero and you have made me realise we all have so much more strength then we think.’

To honor her mother, Dianne expressed gratitude to Mark during his treatment by saying: “Also, I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks to my amazing mom, who has always stood by your side and provided unwavering support. You are truly incredible.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but express my heartfelt gratitude. You two have been such an immense source of joy and inspiration for us. The thought of your return to the UK is simply too exciting to contain! Therefore, it’s high time we organize that long-awaited reunion trip back home for you both.
