Dexter prequel adds The Boys star
As a huge fan of the Dexter franchise, I’m thrilled to see Brittany Allen join the cast of the upcoming prequel, Dexter: Original Sin. Her role as Dexter’s biological mother, Laura Moser, is sure to add an intriguing layer to the storyline set in Miami during 1991.
Dexter: New Blood spoilers follow.
As a passionate gamer and follower of the entertainment industry, I’m excited to share that Brittany Allen, known for her role in “The Boys,” has been announced as the latest addition to the star-studded cast of the upcoming “Dexter” prequel.
Based on Deadline’s report, Allen will portray the recurring character of Dexter’s biological mother, Laura Moser, in “Dexter: Original Sin.” This ten-episode drama series is set in Miami during the year 1991, fifteen years prior to the occurrences in the original program.
As a fan, I would describe it this way: I’m thrilled that Patrick Gibson has been cast as the young Dexter. In this new phase of his life, he’s honing his deadly abilities. The only person who knows about his dark secret is his adoptive father, Harry, played by Christian Slater. Together, they form a complex bond as Dexter tries to keep his bloodthirsty urges in check.
Harry passes on the skill of identifying and eliminating individuals deemed deserving of death to his son, Dexter. Simultaneously, he imparts crucial knowledge on how to evade detection in such activities. However, as a forensics intern at the Miami Metro Police Department, it poses a significant challenge for Dexter to conceal his misdeeds.
In the first season of Allen’s show, Joe Pantoliano, Carlo Mendez, Randy Gonzalez, Raquel Justice, Aaron Jennings, Jasper Lewis, Isaac Gonzalez Rossi, and Roberto Sanchez will each make frequent appearances as distinguished recurring characters.
In addition to the previously named stars, Molly Brown, James Martinez, Christina Milian, Reno Wilson, Alex Shimizu, Patrick Dempsey, and Sarah Michelle Gellar will be joining the production.
The “Dexter” series has already been followed by another installment, but unfortunately, it was cancelled after only one season. In “Dexter: New Blood,” Michael C. Hall once again took on the role of Dexter, now living under a new persona and raising his son Harrison Morgan (played by Jack Alcott).
The controversial conclusion of the series saw Dexter meet his demise at the hands of his own son. However, Harrison’s fate remained uncertain in the aftermath, as the disturbed teen went uncaptured for his heinous act. Is a new sequel a possibility, given this open-ended cliffhanger?
Dexter: Original Sin will air on Showtime in the US and Paramount+ in the UK. Dexter and Dexter: New Blood are both available to stream on NOW.
