Devastating ratings blow that could forever change Brisbane radio
KIIS FM’s early-morning team in Brisbane, consisting of Robin Bailey, Kip Wightman, and ex-Bronco player Corey Oates, has been hit hard by disappointing results in the recent radio audience surveys.
On Tuesday, the disclosed data reveals that the group is in fourth position during the coveted morning timeframe, capturing approximately 10.6% of the viewership.
In my role as a devoted follower, I must share that it’s quite disappointing to report a decline of 1.4 points in our ratings for the KIIS FM breakfast crew, compared to the GfK survey conducted in April this year.
There’s been talk that the underperformance might lead to the team being disbanded, with the possibility of the Kyle and Jackie O Show from Sydney taking over the timeslot instead.
According to industry reports, the management team at KIIS FM is urging Robin, Kip, and Corey to come up with strategies to increase their listenership before the close of the fiscal year, as per The Courier Mail’s report from Wednesday.

In my perspective, the low ratings we’ve been receiving lately aren’t doing justice to our fresh station lineup that kicked off in January. This new setup saw me, a 30-year-old, joining forces with Bailey and Wightman following my appearance in the widely acclaimed ‘Find Corey a Job’ segment last year.
2025 saw me and my co-hosts, Ash, Luttsy & Nikki Osborne from Nova 106.9, triumphing yet again in Brisbane’s breakfast radio wars. For the second year running, we claimed the top spot, capturing an impressive 13.1% of the audience’s ears.
Right after the leaders in this survey, holding a 13% share, are Stav, Abby, and Matt from the Hit Network’s B105 Brisbane.
Finishing third were Marto, Margaux & Dan from Triple M’s 104.5 with an 11.7 per cent share.
In summary, Triple M emerged as the leading radio station in Brisbane, capturing 12.8% of the total audience, followed by Nova at 11.3%, while B015 took third place with an audience share of 12.8%.
KIIS FM was the fourth most popular station in the survey with 10.3 per cent of the audience.
After a dip in Sydney ratings for the station, the team at KIIS FM has been working diligently for several months to enhance the popularity of The Kyle & Jackie O Show in Melbourne, following its decline.
The market share for the house (or radio station) where Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson work decreased by 0.2 percent.

Conversely, despite finishing third, KIIS FM in Sydney managed an overall rating of 9.3. Meanwhile, 2GB took the lead with a score of 13.6, marking an increase of 0.8, and Smooth was close behind at 12.4, also showing growth by 0.6 points.
Once more, Kyle & Jackie O’s highly acclaimed morning show secured the top spot on Sydney’s FM breakfast radio, boasting a market share of 12.5% – an increase of 0.2%.
Despite a slight decrease in their performance in Melbourne, resulting in a drop from 5.8 to 5.1 in market share as compared to the previous survey.
Sydney heavyweights Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson have found themselves caught up in a conflict ever since their large-scale, multi-million dollar expansion within the city resulted in the dismissal of former KIIS FM stars, Jason ‘Jase’ Hawkins and Lauren Phillips.
On the 29th of April, 2024, Sandilands and Henderson transported The Kyle & Jackie O Show to Melbourne as part of an expansive, multi-million dollar contract.
The move triggered the axing of Hawkins and Phillips own KIIS FM breakfast show.
Sandilands and Henderson have since struggled to capture the Melbourne market.
In November, Sandilands announced his intention to scale back explicit sexual content on his KIIS FM radio program in an effort to attract a wider audience in Melbourne this year.
In contrast, the residents of Brisbane have been cautiously accepting the program ‘Hour of Power’, as it wraps up this survey period with a 11% audience share in its syndicated drive-time slot.
The result puts them behind the Nova, B105 and Triple M in the same slot.
