‘Devastated’ Liam Gallagher has paid tribute to boxer Ricky Hatton after his death aged 46.
The famous boxer was discovered at his home in Greater Manchester on Sunday morning. Authorities do not believe there was anything suspicious about his death.
A series of famous faces have paid tribute since the tragic news broke including Oasis star Liam.

Olympic long jumper Greg Rutherford and Ricky competed together on the 2024 season of Dancing On Ice, and Rutherford shared a picture of the two athletes happily posing on the ice.
Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! I just saw the most amazing message from Greg! He finally shared the story of when he met Ricky – MY Ricky! Apparently, he was totally starstruck, just like I would be, and asked for a photo. He told Ricky how huge of a fan he was, and Greg said Ricky was the *kindest*, most down-to-earth person ever! He actually *talked* to Greg, really engaged with him the whole time. I’m seriously dying of happiness right now!


Even in the short time I knew him, his kindness was always apparent. We shared a few conversations about mental health, discussing the challenges we both faced. I even opened up to him about things I hadn’t shared with anyone else, and he offered incredibly supportive words that I’ll always cherish.
He was a wonderful person and an incredibly talented boxer. We’ll all miss him dearly, and our hearts go out to his family.
Ricky’s Dancing On Ice partner, Robin Johnston, shared a statement remembering how much progress Ricky was making before he passed away.
She told The Mirror: ‘I’m devastated. It’s so sad. Ricky was a friend.
I’ll never forget the last time I saw him. It was during the Torvill and Dean show, and he was watching us on the ice with his daughters. His eyes were just sparkling with excitement – he was so thrilled to be there, and his girls were too. His children truly meant the world to him; they were his everything.
Of all my skating partners, we stayed closest with him. He was really focused on training and seemed great – he even checked in on how we were doing. We were touring with Torvill and Dean at the time, and his daughters came to watch the show. We’ve gotten to know his daughters pretty well over the years.
Amber Davies, also a star on ‘Dancing On Ice,’ shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, saying, ‘Such a lovely guy, Ricky. Sending my thoughts to everyone who loved him. He was one of the kindest people I met during our time on the show. Rest in peace.’


As someone who spends a lot of time around the world of performance and competition, I was so saddened to hear about Ricky Hatton. I had the pleasure of working with him on Dancing On Ice, and he truly was a gem. I saw firsthand how incredibly kind and supportive he was – he really took on a fatherly role for so many of us on the show. My heart goes out to his family and friends. It’s a really tough loss, and he’ll be deeply missed.
David Beckham also shared his own tribute to Ricky, posting a snap of him from his boxing heyday.
He shared his sadness, saying Ricky was truly unique and irreplaceable, and that his fans adored him.
The retired soccer player posted a quote from Ricky, who said, ‘The most important thing to me is having the fans’ support.’
DOI contestant Adele Roberts posted: ‘Goodnight Ricky

He truly was incredible. I’ve looked up to him for years, and I was absolutely floored when I finally got to meet him. It was a dream come true!
Ricky was even more wonderful than I imagined – incredibly kind, funny, and generous. His joyful energy lit up every space he was in, and he faced life with incredible courage. He will be deeply missed, and it’s heartbreaking that he’s gone so young. Rest peacefully, Ricky.
Will Mellor shared on X that he was heartbroken to learn about the passing of his friend, Ricky Hatton. He described Hatton as a true champion of the people, but emphasized that Hatton’s toughest fight was with his mental health. Mellor ended with a message of rest in peace.
Ray Winstone expressed his shock and sadness at the news, saying it felt like a physical blow. Though he hadn’t met the individual personally, he felt a connection to him, describing him as both a talented athlete and a beloved figure. Winstone offered his heartfelt condolences to the family and wished him peace, noting his passing was far too soon.
Piers Morgan shared a tribute on X (formerly Twitter) following the death of boxer Ricky ‘The Hitman’ Hatton, aged 46. Police reported Hatton was found dead at his home in Manchester, and his death is not considered suspicious. Morgan called the news ‘incredibly sad’.
On his BBC Radio 2 program, Paddy McGuinness announced the sad news of Ricky’s death, becoming emotional as he remembered him as a close friend.

He shared some sad news with the audience, announcing the passing of his friend, Ricky Hatton. He expressed his condolences and sent his love and thoughts to Hatton’s family.
Dedicating his next song to Ricky, Paddy then played the Frank Sinatra hit Blue Moon.
Paddy also posted an old photo of himself with Ricky, Robbie Williams, and Jonathan Wilkes. The picture was taken in 2010 when they all played together on the England team for the Soccer Aid charity match.
He wrote with the post: ‘World Champion. A champion of the people. I’ve shared a lot of wonderful moments with Ricky over the years.’
Whether he was in Las Vegas or back home in Manchester, he always made time for the people around him. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to Ray, Carol, Campbell, Millie, Fearne, and his entire family. Rest peacefully, champion.

The celebrated boxing champion passed away at the age of 46, only weeks after surprisingly announcing he was coming out of retirement.







Police were called to Bowlacre Road in Hyde, Tameside, this morning at 6:45am after a member of the public reported a death. Officers found the body of a 46-year-old man, and at this time, they do not believe the death is suspicious.
People close to Ricky Hatton became worried last night when he didn’t show up to an event where one of his fighters was competing, according to Daily Mail Sport.
He’d retired from boxing and started coaching, but was scheduled to come out of retirement for a fight in December.
Ricky Hatton, recognized with an MBE for his contributions to sports in 2007, frequently discussed his battles with mental health issues and drug addiction.
