The police procedural series, known as Hudson & Rex, which has been praised as a “welcoming departure”, is currently available for streaming in the UK.
Debuted in 2019, this series focuses on Detective Charlie Hudson from the St. John’s Police Department and his canine partner Rex, who was reassigned from the K9 unit to the Major Crimes Unit, having received specialized training as a German Shepherd.
The show is based in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada, where it delves into the unique bond between Rex and Charlie as they work collaboratively to unravel mysteries within their area of responsibility.
In a different casting, John Reardon took on the role of Hudson, whereas unfortunately, Diesel von Burgimwald, who portrayed Rex, had to pass away from cancer right before the start of season 7 filming.
In January of this year, the seventh season of the TV series inspired by the Austrian-Italian drama “Kommissar Rex” became accessible for streaming in the United Kingdom, with all previous six seasons also available.
The program enjoys significant popularity among British audiences, currently ranking at the tenth position in the UK’s top 10 chart on the streaming platform NOW.
Sharing opinions about the series Hudson & Rex on IMDb, viewers commended the show’s approach to avoiding overly violent content. One viewer even referred to it as a “welcoming shift” when compared to the usual abundance of blood and gore.
