As a huge Destiny fan, I’m so excited to hear that NetEase Games is bringing us Season of Wishes – Season 4 of the Rising Season – on March 26, 2026! From what they’ve announced, it sounds like a really big update that will continue the story and give us tons of new stuff – free characters, raids, and even improvements to make the game even better. Let’s dive into all the details, shall we?

Destiny: Rising Season 4 update expands the Red Sea Rift with new story content

Okay, so I’m super excited about Destiny 2: Rising Season 4! It’s taking us deeper into the Red Sea Rift, which is a whole new area to explore and really continues the story. You can jump right into three brand-new dungeons if you want a guided experience, or just wander around and discover everything the Rift has to offer at your own speed. It’s awesome!

Okay, so the devs are calling this a “Developer Preview,” but honestly? It feels like they finally delivered on what we’ve been hoping for. I’ve basically gone in and tweaked things, rewritten some of the code, to make the game exactly how I want it – how we want it. It’s all still super fresh, like the changes just happened. Come check out the world I’ve built for you, Lightbearer! It’s something special. 🐉✨

As you explore, you can solve a variety of puzzles to earn special rewards. We’ll also be adding new, ever-changing challenges like Frontline Events and Public Events, where you can team up with others and tackle them together.

Destiny: Rising update brings free Mythic characters and new weapons

One of the biggest improvements in version 4 is its focus on updates and content that players will love. You can earn brand new, powerful characters – like the hero Efrideet – just by participating in events.

Alongside that, you can also get access to new gear, including;

  • Three classic Exotic weapons from Destiny 2.
  • A new Mythic weapon series.

In early April, Season 4 will introduce a brand new raid called Great Hunt, the second original Gauntlet Onslaught. This raid features a boss battle in Njorun Lair and offers rewards for completing speedruns.

On top of that, you can look forward to:

Destiny: Rising Season 4 update improves progression, introduces new systems, and more

The next update will significantly improve how the game runs with several optimizations. A major change is that restrictions on Pinnacle Energy have been removed, letting you play any game mode without limitations.

Moreover, progression has also been adjusted for both new and veteran players:

  • Faster early-game progression for newcomers.
  • Reduced task requirements in early chapters.
  • Level cap increased to 90.
  • New Paragon Board system for deeper endgame progression path.

This update includes a new Season System to help you follow your progress. We’re also improving the weapon and artifact systems, giving you more ways to customize your experience. This feels like a major update since the game launched, and you can find more details in an upcoming developer blog.
