NetEase Games is launching a busy season for its RPG shooter, Destiny: Rising, starting with the new Dawning update. They’ve also shared plans for content releases through April 2026. The Dawning update includes holiday-themed rewards, fresh content, and special seasonal events.

Take part in winter-themed snowball activities and celebrate the festive month

I’m so excited for The Dawning! It’s bringing back some fun winter activities, like Snowball Showdown and Speedway Skirmish – basically, trading in our guns for a snowball fight! And the best part? There are awesome rewards, including a new skin for Umeko, a cool Ghost Shell, and even a Sparrow to earn. I can’t wait to get everything!

✨The Dawning begins on Dec 12. Ready for the snowball fight and sparrow racing this winter?

On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, there will be bonfire celebrations with fireworks and events put on by the Wolf Pack. I’m also excited to play mini-games like Go Ghost Go!, Soccer, Shadowshaper Duel, and Fishing, because you can earn extra rewards by playing them.

You can also join the Snowball Fight event online until January 1, 2026. By completing simple tasks, you’ll earn rewards and be entered into special prize drawings.

The 2026 Content Roadmap reveals major content, endgame prep, game modes, and more until April 2026

So, besides this current update, the devs are planning something huge for early January 2026! They’re adding a new system called Pinnacle Energy, a whole new place to explore, and continuing the main story. Plus, they’ve got plans for more stuff to do and even a Tower-Defense mode coming in Season 3. Honestly, I’m really digging that they’re willing to try out new ideas.

Going forward, the game will receive two large updates each year. Smaller, seasonal updates will still happen regularly, and Season 2 will include more content for Shifting Gates, three new stages for Gauntlet Blitz, and new weapons. Plus, players can look forward to the return of the popular Dawning event!

Besides these big updates, the team is planning exciting player-versus-player events, new challenges for endgame players, and will share a monthly event calendar on social media. We’re looking forward to Season 3, which will include the popular 6-player challenge, and Season 4, bringing a significant system update.
