Despite Tragedies, Jackie Siegel Finds Hope Through Family
Jackie Siegel, the central figure in The Queen of Versailles, has experienced another devastating loss within her family, a mere two days following the passing of her spouse.
59-year-old Siegel disclosed that her sister, Jessica Mallery, tragically passed away due to an unintentional overdose involving cocaine mixed with fentanyl, at the age of 43, on a recent Monday.
Sigel conveyed to TMZ that Jessica’s passing serves as a poignant reminder of the ongoing drug issue, particularly the fentanyl predicament, which our nation is grappling with. It underscores the immediate requirement for action on substance misuse in order to preserve lives.
She found her world being shattered once more by a hardship our family is painfully familiar with. Tragically, her daughter Victoria passed away due to a drug overdose at just 18 years old in the year 2015.
Jessica’s death came two days after Siegel’s husband David Alan Siegel died on Saturday,
The reality star shared the sad news in a loving post Saturday on Instagram.

She shared the news that her husband, David Alan Siegel, had sadly passed away this morning, in a personal message she penned.
Over the course of a quarter-century, I had the good fortune to spend my life alongside David, and together we nurtured eight exceptional children. The essence of his life and what he leaves behind continues in each one of them.
Jackie tied the knot with the proprietor of Westgate Resorts back in 2000, and they collectively raised eight children: Daniel, Debbie, Drew, David, Jordan, Jacqueline, Jonquil, and Victoria. Tragically, Victoria lost her life due to a drug overdose in 2015, prompting the couple to establish a charitable organization in her memory.
Expressing our sorrow doesn’t quite capture it; we’re deeply shattered. Yet, amidst this pain, I take solace in the thought that Victoria welcomed him – his first sound in the afterlife was likely “Dad,” accompanied by a warm embrace.
Additionally, you’ll find that Steven, David’s eldest son from his first marriage, is present as well. This idea brings such a sense of tranquility to me.
She expressed to her numerous supporters and admirers that everyone cherished him deeply, leading her to share this particular piece of information with them. She gratitudefully acknowledged their affection and encouragement during these challenging moments, stating it holds immense significance for them all.
She penned down, ‘I believe life is a divine present from God, and I’m grateful that my spouse has discovered tranquility with the Almighty. Cherish each second and express gratitude to God.’
In 2012, Jackie and her family gained prominence through the documentary titled “Queen of Versailles,” which centered around Jackie’s ambitious project to construct a grandiose mansion modeled after the Palace of Versailles located in France.
Camera crews caught up with their efforts a decade later in Queen of Versailles Reigns Again.
A Broadway musical based on their story debuted in 2024.
Kristen Chenowith, originally playing Jackie on the stage version, expressed her sympathies by saying, ‘I’m sending you lots of affection.’
In response to my statement, fellow celebrity Jill Zarin expressed her sorrow, “I’m deeply saddened for you and your loved ones, sending an abundance of love and prayers.” Similarly, Shannon Beador from Real Housewives of Orange County conveyed her condolences, “I’m terribly sorry!! Sending my family’s prayers to yours.

David Siegel founded Westgate Resorts back in 1982, primarily in the Orlando, Florida region. Today, this privately-owned company stands as the largest timeshare firm globally and is among the top U.S. resort developers. With over 13,500 rooms spread across 22 resorts nationwide, it’s a significant player in the hospitality industry.
Having served in the military, he generously provided over 28,000 free vacation opportunities to fellow service members.
The Victoria’s Voice Foundation, established in memory of their deceased daughter, has been pushing for an expansion of drug rehabilitation coverage duration from the usual 30 days to a more extensive 90 days, aiming to enhance treatment results.
Additionally, the organization advocated for Congress to make Naloxone, a vital drug used to reverse opioid overdose, more accessible nationwide.
