The actor from “Glory” and “Training Day” revealed that director Ryan Coogler, known for his work on the Marvel films “Black Panther” (2018) and its sequel “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” (2022), is planning a tailor-made role for him in a potential third film. He mentioned this when discussing his confidence about collaborating with Ridley Scott on the upcoming “Gladiator II.

During an interview on ‘Today’ in Australia, Denzel Washington expressed his focus on the filmmaker at this stage of his career, stating he prefers collaborating with top-tier professionals. He admitted that he might not have many more films left, so he aims to try new things.

The seasoned actor, who will appear in “Gladiator II” directed by Ridley Scott, detailed his remaining acting aspirations.

He mentioned that he acted in Othello when he was 22 and is planning to reprise the role for the 2025 Broadway production of the play alongside Jake Gyllenhaal. Following this, he will take on the role of Hannibal, and has been discussing a film project with Steve McQueen. Ryan Coogler is penning a part for him in the upcoming ‘Black Panther’. Afterward, he plans to star in Othello again, followed by King Lear, before eventually retiring.

As of now, Marvel hasn’t made any official statements regarding a third “Black Panther” movie or Ryan Coogler’s participation in future installments of this successful series. Neither Disney nor Coogler’s representatives have responded to The Times’ queries about the matter as of Tuesday.
