Denzel Washington confirms two more Equalizer movies
As a seasoned gamer who has navigated through countless action-packed narratives, I must admit that the news of two more Equalizer movies brings a sense of excitement and anticipation to my gaming spirit. Denzel Washington’s portrayal of Robert McCall is not just another character on screen, it’s an immersive journey into the world of justice, vengeance, and redemption that grips me from start to finish.
Denzel Washington has confirmed that two more Equalizer movies are in the works.
The series kicked off in 2014 with the movie “The Equalizer” and focuses on Robert McCall, a former US Marine and DIA intelligence officer who was once played by Washington, after leaving government service. A 2018 sequel continued the story, and another installment hit theaters last year.
Originally, Washington indicated that the third film could be an appropriate ending point. However, recent confirmation reveals that production on both a fourth and fifth movie is underway.
In his recent chat with Esquire, he revealed that another Equalizer film is in the works, and they’re currently producing films numbered four and five as well.
A growing number of individuals express delight over it – it seems everyone adores these Equalizers. For me, it’s all about diversity. Occasionally, I find myself thinking, this one is for me, and that one is for someone else.
“So for example, Othello: we’re doing it on Broadway and then a movie. That’s for me. But I’ve come to realize that the Equalizer films are for me, too, because they’re for the people. They want me to go get the bad guys. ‘We can’t get them, so you go get them.’ And I say, ‘Okay, I’ll get them! Just wait right there. I’ll be right back!'”
In the third movie, McCall was attempting to enjoy a tranquil life in beautiful Southern Italy, but it wasn’t long before he found himself back in business, determined to shield his newly formed connections from the grasp of the mafia.
Prior to the movie’s premiere last year, Washington subtly suggested that it could mark his last appearance as the ex-Marine.
“I don’t want to say he’s found happiness, and I don’t want to give it all away, but he meets someone lovely, he’s in a lovely town and he seems to be at peace. That seems to be a good place to stop,” he said at the time. “I didn’t know that there was going to be three. Definitely didn’t know that when we did the first one. I didn’t know how it would end.”
