Denise Welch Transforms into AI Pope: Bizarre Tribute After Pope Francis’ Death

Denise Welch has taken on an artificial form resembling the pope, following the demise of Pope Francis.

Easter Monday saw the Vatican confirm the passing of a pope, originally from Argentina, who had been hospitalized for several weeks due to an ailment that escalated into pneumonia.

And Coronation Street star Denise was among the stars to acknowledge his death on social media. 

Instead of expressing a touching homage like Whoopi Goldberg and Antonio Banderas did, Welch chose to go with a distinctly unique method.

On a Monday, one of the Loose Women panelists posted a peculiar image on Instagram, depicting herself in clothing resembling the Pope’s attire. It appears that she utilized an artificial intelligence tool to alter her appearance and assume the role of the Pontiff.

In the midst of a series of AI-generated photos, Welch shared a particular image, humorously remarking that her year was already packed, only four months into 2025.

Initially, a photograph depicted Welch floating next to a hot air balloon, implying she was airborne. Later, the reference was made to the Blue Origin mission, which transformed Welch, Alison Hammond, Natalie Cassidy, Gemma Collins, and Carol Vorderman into astronauts.

The other snaps showed her sky diving, dressed as superman and finally as the pope. 

Many celebrities have publicly paid tribute to Pope Francis after the Vatican announced his death. 

Notable figures across various age groups and religious backgrounds paid tribute on social media platforms to the individual who devoted his entire life to serving both God and the Church.

Among them was Whoopi Goldberg, 69, who recalled a past meeting Pope Francis. 

In close proximity to this photo I shared, I penned: “For a considerable while, he appeared to recall that the all-encompassing love of Christ embraces both faithful and agnostic alike.” (As a dedicated follower, I might say: “In this picture I posted, I expressed: ‘He seemed to remember for quite some time now, that Christ’s love includes believers and nonbelievers equally.'”)

He seemed more akin to Pope John XXIII, who brought faith to life. Keep sailing, Pope Francis, with your compassion for humanity and humor.

Antonio Banderas, who identified as agnostic back in 2006 but feels strongly connected to Catholic spirituality, also reminisced about his encounters with the Pope.

Reverend Richard Coles, a member of the Church of England clergy, promptly acknowledged Pope Francis by posting an old photograph on social media.

In a heartfelt tweet, the Reverend from Britain prayed: “We entrust our beloved servant Jorge, one of your flock, to your tender care, O Gracious Redeemer. He is one of your sheep, one of your lambs – a sinner who found grace through your salvation.

Grant him eternal peace and the radiant fellowship of the saints in celestial light. So be it. #PopeFrancis

In any faith, he was an immense figure – a champion for love, justice, and peace. Regardless of his status and the limitations associated with it, he made an effort to make a difference.

I deeply appreciated his compassionate nature and some of the pieces he created, particularly the ‘Laudato Si’ – a reflection on caring for our shared environment. It’s simply breathtaking.

King Charles likewise expressed his sorrow over the demise of Pope Francis, acknowledging that he was greatly disheartened upon hearing the news of his passing.

He mentioned that Francis, being the initial Pope from Latin America, would be widely recognized for his compassion and significantly impacted the lives of numerous people.

Over the past two months, the Pope has been dealing with various health issues, one of them being a period of pneumonia that required him to be admitted to the hospital.

On April 9, he was well enough to conduct a personal meeting with the duo. During the Easter holiday, he made appearances at public functions, and moreover, he recently interacted with the United States Vice President, Mr. JD Vance.

On Easter Monday, the announcement came early that he had sadly passed away, leaving over a billion Catholics globally in sorrow.
