Denise Welch recently disclosed that she was urgently taken to the hospital due to the most intense pain she had ever experienced, approximately two weeks back. She chose to share this health-related information with her followers.
66-year-old celebrity from the show Loose Women admitted that she waited 24 hours for a hospital bed, which she later removed from her social media post.
The celebrity, missing from the ITV panel program since November before making a comeback this month, informed followers: “Two weeks ago, I experienced the most intense pain imaginable.
We endured a 90-minute wait for an ambulance, followed by a 24-hour stay in the emergency department while seeking a bed in the surgical ward.
Or more casually:
We waited 90 minutes for an ambulance and then I hung out in A&E for 24 hours, hoping to find a spot on the surgical ward.
In her recent social media post, she didn’t provide details about why she was admitted to the hospital. However, last week on Loose Women, Denise disclosed that she had urgently been taken to the hospital due to acute peritonitis – an infection of the inner stomach lining – just after coming back from her vacation in the UK.
Over the weekend, I returned from an absolutely blissful getaway in the Caribbean. Eager to flaunt my new golden glow here, I was all set to share some vacation snaps. However, fate had other plans; by Saturday evening, I found myself rushed into the hospital with a severe case of peritonitis due to a ruptured diverticulitis.

I’ve spent a week at the hospital receiving an IV treatment instead of needing surgery, which I’m grateful for because it was handled with antibiotics. My mom jokingly said, ‘It’s time to ship me off to the old-age home!’
TopMob have contacted Denise’s representatives for comment.
Last week, she held back tears while sharing the real reason for her prolonged absence from Loose Women on the show.
At the tail end of November, Denise made an appearance on Loose Women live, and in December, she was featured in a pre-prepared segment discussing postnatal depression during the show’s 25-hour talkathon.
She, the soap actress, shared an emotional account of her absence from TV since November, explaining that it was during a hectic work month when she felt something wasn’t right.
She mentioned that her initial suspicion arose when, unintentionally, she found herself driving on a one-directional road, and in the ensuing weeks, she experienced an overpowering wave of anxiety.
Denise told the panel: ‘It was so black, so dark, so quickly.’
She shared that she started experiencing panic attacks, and her husband, Lincoln, attempted to remove some of her obligations from her schedule. This included canceling her theater performances and her personal charity event.

After beginning the production of a pantomime, Denise remembered collapsing in her hotel lobby just three days into it. She then told her agent, “You need to take me off this project.
After a struggle to hold back her emotions, she shared the story of her triumph over the difficult experience. Following some time for rest and healing, she was able to move past those feelings.
‘I’ve made a recovery from this episode,’ she emotionally told her co-stars.
Denise hasn’t been seen much lately, as she stepped down from her role as Captain Hook in a pantomime production scheduled for the Nottingham Theatre Royal during the holiday season.
Originally, she was taken over by actor Richard Winsor, aged 43, and subsequently decided not to attend her personal yearly charity event for GEM Appeal, which was held at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel towards the end of November.
A few short weeks prior to her leaving, Denise shared that she was struggling with her mental health, saying: “The past couple of weeks have been incredibly challenging for me, and I’m still dealing with it.
Recently, I completed a podcast and an article where I shared my journey of being liberated from clinical depression after five long years. I fervently hope that before I become a parent, this condition can be effectively reversed.
‘But sadly the unwelcomed visitor paid me another visit.
For about two weeks now, I haven’t been feeling my best. We’ve hinted at this issue because as they say in Britain, “It’s good to talk.” So, let’s have an open discussion.
‘Sometimes people still find it isn’t always good to talk for them.
I dropped by to let you know that when I’m feeling unwell, it’s crucial for my friends to understand that I simply require some time to recover…
To clarify, feel free to join the team at work whenever you wish. If you prefer not to, I understand as I took a day off last week due to illness and I am fully aware of my health condition.
She mentioned: “I’ve been without the morning anxiety for quite some time now, as this condition works in such a way that I might feel fine today, but terribly unwell tomorrow, and it’s a very isolating experience.
The NHS continues to define depression as persistent feelings of sadness, but remember that sadness is an emotional response to something that has caused distress or sorrow. It’s essential to understand that experiencing such emotions is normal in the context of our health and well-being.
‘Depression does exactly what it says on the tin.’
