Denise Van Outen, 51, reveals she’s dating again but says her new mystery man has ‘no interest’ in the spotlight…. unlike her exes

Denise Van Outen is dating someone new, but she’s happy he prefers to stay out of the public eye.

The 51-year-old TV star was rumored to be dating businessman Adam Butler last year, after ending her relationship with Jimmy Barba. Before that, she was engaged to Eddie Boxhall, but she ended things when she found out he was unfaithful.

Denise shared that her current boyfriend, who she’s keeping anonymous, is not involved in the entertainment industry, so fans shouldn’t expect to see them making public appearances together at events like red carpets.

I haven’t shared this yet, but I am seeing someone. For the first time, I’ve decided to keep my relationship private – I don’t feel the need to share all the details.

I used to think I had to share everything with someone I was dating, but I’ve learned it’s important to maintain some personal boundaries and keep certain things private.

Denise explained she now wishes she hadn’t shared details about past relationships publicly, because any breakups became very public events.

She shared with The Sun that her past partners always craved the spotlight – red carpets, photos, and fame – but her current partner isn’t interested in any of that. She sees this as a positive, as she’s learned from negative experiences with fame-seeking partners in the past.

Denise has said she started using dating apps because it’s been difficult to meet men since she moved to the country.

In 2024, the presenter signed up for Raya, a members-only dating app. She explained that it was difficult to meet people living in the countryside of Kent, and she didn’t think she’d have much of a dating life without it.

She recently shared with The Sun that she thinks dating apps are great. She isn’t sure how she’d meet people otherwise.

She explained that while she used to have more opportunities to socialize, living in the countryside now makes it difficult to simply go out for a drink at the pub.

Going to my local pub wouldn’t really help, because I know everyone there – they’re all my neighbors anyway.

The performer explained that raising her 15-year-old daughter, Betsy – whom she shares with her ex-husband, Lee Mead – makes dating difficult because she’s unable to go out in the evenings.

After her engagement with Eddie ended when she found out he cheated, she told Fabulous magazine she wasn’t bothered by it anymore.

As someone who’s spent years observing and sharing lifestyle tips, I’ve realized how much freedom comes with self-sufficiency. My friend Tamzin Outhwaite and I were just talking about this – it’s incredibly liberating to genuinely enjoy life and not feel like you need a partner to be happy. I’ve really focused on building a life I love on my own, and honestly, I’ve found a lot of contentment in that.

Working in this field can be really stressful, and mistakes are often made very public. It’s easy to feel like everyone is judging you if things don’t go well.

I sometimes think people question why I can’t maintain a lasting relationship, suggesting I’m doomed to repeat past mistakes, but I’m no longer trying to fix that pattern.

She explained that she and Eddie stopped dating only because of something he did, and she said that was the most upsetting part of their split.

Denise felt like she had to start over, but she was determined to stay optimistic and approach things with an open mind.

Denise experienced heartbreak when she and Eddie broke up, but she found love again with Jimmy in July 2022. Unfortunately, that relationship also ended after a year and a half.

That summer, Denise began dating Jimmy, a 55-year-old property developer, shortly after ending her seven-year relationship with her unfaithful ex-boyfriend, Eddie.

She broke up with her boyfriend, who worked in commodities trading, in January 2022 after finding out he had been unfaithful.

After unexpectedly ending their relationship, Eddie left Denise’s house and was reportedly staying with friends.
