Denise Richards reveals she is in ex Patrick Muldoon’s last film days after his tragic death at 57

Denise Richards has shared a clip of the last movie she and Patrick Muldoon did together.

The 55-year-old actress shared a sad message on Instagram explaining that she and her late co-star were supposed to be promoting their new movie, Dirty Hands, this week before its release on Friday, but unfortunately, that plan won’t happen now.

Richards, who had a relationship with Muldoon in the late 1990s and stayed friends with him until he passed away, shared that he was incredibly dedicated to the film and put a lot of effort into it. He also had close relationships with many of the people who worked on it.

Before starring in Dirty Hands, the actors had previously worked together on the 1997 science fiction film, Starship Troopers.

Oh my gosh, working on his first movie was incredible, but getting to be part of his last film… it just feels so special and I’m unbelievably grateful for that chance. It means the world to me, especially seeing how much his daughter Lola loved him too – her tribute was so sweet!

The film stars Muldoon as Richie Denton, a Chicago drug dealer, and Kevin Interdonato as his brother, Danny. Trouble begins when a simple drug exchange goes bad, forcing them to flee from both competing gangs and their own criminal leader.

Richards plays Sheila, Richie’s girlfriend who finds herself torn between loyalties.

The actress described a scene featuring a heated phone call between her character and Muldoon’s.

“Last time you lied, we nearly lost it all. What’s going to happen this time?” Sheila asked her partner. He replied, “I think everything’s fine, Sheila… I’ll be home in a couple of hours, okay?”

Even though I’m still shocked and heartbroken, I wanted to share this short video. I know he’d want everyone to see the film – it was written, directed, and starred in by his close friend Kevin, and produced and starred in by his friend Guy.

‘He was so proud of this movie,’ she added.

Richards’ post received many supportive responses, including a heartfelt message from her daughter Lola, who wrote, ‘I love you, Mom, and I’m so sorry for your loss. He’s watching over you from heaven.’

According to his manager, actor Frank Muldoon passed away Sunday morning from a heart attack at his home in Beverly Hills, where he lived with his girlfriend, Miriam Rothbart.

The actor, famous for his work on Days of Our Lives and Melrose Place, was found unresponsive on the bathroom floor after going to take a shower. His girlfriend discovered him and immediately called for help, but paramedics couldn’t revive him.

I was so touched to see Richards share a really sweet message on Instagram earlier this week about their friendship – it’s amazing to witness a connection that’s lasted decades! It just goes to show how important nurturing those long-term bonds truly is.

She shared on Tuesday that she was utterly heartbroken by the loss, describing the person as her closest friend and family.

We first connected in an acting class. I was nineteen, completely new to professional acting, and you were twenty-one, studying at USC while already appearing on the show Who’s the Boss.

‘And here we are. 36 years later. My whole adult life and I don’t know it without you.’

Just before he passed away, Muldoon was enthusiastic about a new film he was working on called Kockroach, adapted from the novel of the same name by William Lashner.

He shared on Instagram how thrilled he is to be working on the new film KOCKROACH, directed by Matt Ross and featuring Chris Hemsworth, Taron Edgerton, Zazzie Beetz, and Alec Baldwin.

Muldoon, an executive producer on the project, announced that filming had begun in Australia, and tagged actors Hemsworth, Edgerton, and Beetz in the announcement.

Before acknowledging his fellow executive producers, he first shared a screenshot of the movie’s announcement.

IMDb describes the movie as the story of a mysterious newcomer who climbs the ranks of New York City’s criminal world. He builds a powerful criminal organization and takes on the existing crime bosses, shaking up the established order.

Kockroach is being directed by Matt Ross and also stars Rachel Sennott and Channing Tatum.

There has been no word of production changes following Muldoon’s death.

Frank Zappa’s sister, Shana Muldoon Zappa, announced on Wednesday that a memorial service will be held, but the family needs time to grieve before making further plans.
