Denise Richards alleges abuse and death threats by estranged husband Aaron Phypers

In court proceedings in Los Angeles County on Wednesday, Denise Richards alleged that her estranged spouse, Aaron Phypers, has been physically abusive, made threatening statements with intent to cause fear, and possesses weapons not legally registered. She filed a petition for a temporary restraining order, which was granted.

Phypers, who submitted a divorce petition on the 7th of July and listed the 4th as their separation date, firmly denies any instances of mistreatment towards Richards.

According to The Times’ review of Richard’s TRO petition, it involves accusations of mistreatment during their marriage, with instances reported between July 4th and July 14th. This alleged abuse took place after she had left the family home and was living in three separate townhouses that she uses as a studio, office, and personal residence.

In the course of our relationship, Aaron often resorted to excessive force, regularly choking me violently, squeezing my head hard with both hands, compressing my arms tightly, slapping me aggressively on my face and head, and ramming my head forcefully into the bathroom towel rack. He also threatened to take my life, pinned me down with his knee on my back so strongly that I had to beg him to lift off me for fear of being killed, as Richards stated in her complaint.

She mentioned that he frequently made threats like, “I’ll ‘crack your skull,'” and on occasion wept, begged for my presence, and swore to seek assistance – promises that were never kept.

Richard claims that Perry repeatedly caused at least three head injuries, often using offensive and disrespectful language towards him. Furthermore, he is accused of accessing her personal text messages on his computer without permission and capturing screenshots of those messages.

In the document, Richards stated, “Up until now, I’ve hesitated to inform the police about Aaron or seek a restraining order due to his constant warnings that he would harm himself and me if I did so. Additionally, he has made threats of violence towards both of us should anyone be informed about his abusive behavior.

She said he told her he had eight unregistered guns and some bulletproof vests.

In the middle of April, she claimed that upon her return from a work journey, she informed Phypers he wasn’t permitted to remain in the studio townhouse and needed to depart. Afterwards, she secured the doors following his exit.

As I was tidying up, I found myself recounting an unsettling event in a court filing: “Aaron, in a moment of anger, ascended to the balcony and forced his way inside the room on the second floor where I was. Once he entered, Aaron, in a menacing manner, lunged towards me, gripping the back of my head roughly with his hands full of my hair. He then shoved me brutally onto the ground, pinning me down with his knee to prevent any movement. This was not an isolated incident. Aaron would frequently scream at me, right in my face.

Richards said she told Phypers that she was going to call the police.

He reacted in a manner familiar to me, saying, ‘Attempt to remove me? They don’t realize my true nature, just as you may not. I decided it wasn’t safe to stay any longer when he refused to depart.

Apart from sharing other details, Richardson presented self-portraits dated January 2022 that depicted a noticeable black eye. She claimed this injury was sustained when Phyper struck her with the back of his hand during an unscheduled event at his workplace beyond regular hours.

During the occurrence, there was loud shouting that drew the attention of a police officer who was in the parking lot at the time. Following his departure, Phypers allegedly continued to yell loudly, according to the statement, then assaulted her and used offensive language, referring to her with a derogatory term, as claimed in the filing.

Aaron William Cameron Phypers, known as Phypers, refuted Richard’s accusations, stating to TMZ on Thursday that they are “untrue and extremely painful.” He emphasized that he has never physically or emotionally harmed Richard or anyone else.

In a quiet ceremony in December 2015, Phypers and actress Nicollette Sheridan from “Desperate Housewives” exchanged vows. However, less than half a year later, she initiated divorce proceedings. The legal separation didn’t become final until August 2018.

In the year 2017, he and Richard started their journey together. Approximately one year later, they tied the knot in September 2018, about a month following the legal separation of Phyper and Sheridan. Their intimate wedding ceremony took place in Malibu. Prior to this union, Richard was married to Charlie Sheen, a well-known actor from “Two and a Half Men,” between 2002 and 2006.

Currently, Phypers is required to maintain a distance of 100 yards from Richards, her car, workplace, and residence at all times. He is also prohibited from owning firearms or body armor. Richards has requested that he return her laptops and has sought permission to record any conversations that breach the restraining order. A court hearing for the permanent establishment of this restraining order has been scheduled for August 8th.
