Denise Richards looked remarkably young at a recent appearance for The Bold and the Beautiful, her first since publicly sharing that she had a facelift.

The 55-year-old actress revealed in a recent interview with Allure that she had cosmetic surgery eight months ago.

Richards confessed she wished she could have undone the procedure and returned to how she looked previously. She explained she was very scared, as having been in the public spotlight since she was young, it would be impossible to conceal a facelift.

She added: ‘It is night and day. It’s shocking, actually.’

The surgeon who performed her plastic surgery shared dramatic before-and-after pictures of the results with The Daily Mail.

Amidst a difficult and painful divorce from her husband, Aaron Phypers, she’s found a rare moment of happiness. The process has been incredibly draining, both emotionally and financially.

After six years together, Phypers filed for divorce from Richards in Los Angeles on July 7, 2025.

I was really following the Richards divorce, and back in February, the judge decided he had to pay his wife, Phypers, $5,000 every month as temporary support while things are being sorted out. It’s a tough situation, but that’s what the court ordered for now.

In an interview with Allure, Richards shared that her older daughters initially weren’t thrilled with her decision, but they’ve come to understand and appreciate that she still looks like herself.

They seemed generally concerned about me having the surgery, and kept telling me it wasn’t necessary, especially since I was young.

I’ve made a decision I’m excited about, and while I know you might not see it the same way, I’d really appreciate your support. I understand your feelings, but this is something I need to do for myself.

The actress, who adopted her youngest daughter Eloise in 2011, had previously disagreed with her daughter Sami about Sami’s decision to have a nose job. This old conflict flared up again when Richards shared her own plans for surgery.

Richards shared that she discouraged her daughter, Sami, from getting a nose job a couple of years ago. So, when Sami expressed concern about Richards getting a facelift, she reminded her, ‘You didn’t want me to get a nose job either.’

I pointed out that he was young – only twenty – and any changes to his nose could significantly alter his appearance. As far as I’m concerned, he’s simply trying to restore his original look, not reinvent it. I’m doing the same – I’m not aiming for a different appearance, just to fix what was there before. There’s a subtle distinction, though, in my view.

She continued, explaining that she sympathized with the other person’s feelings. The woman had expressed wishing she had a different nose, specifically her own, instead of her father’s. She shared that she reassured her, telling her that her dad’s nose was handsome and suited her well.

This decision follows a court order requiring Richards to pay her soon-to-be ex-husband, Phypers, $5,000 each month in temporary support.

The actress and her estranged husband, age 53, are getting divorced after separating last summer. In a recent court hearing, the judge ordered the movie star to pay her ex-husband a monthly sum and $30,000 to help cover his lawyer’s costs.

The judge explained that the lawyer’s fees cover only the divorce proceedings, and do not include any costs related to Phypers’s criminal case.

I can’t believe it! They’re saying he’s been charged with four felonies! Two for allegedly hurting her, which I absolutely don’t believe, and two for… well, for supposedly trying to scare someone who might testify. He says it’s all a lie, and honestly, I trust him completely. It’s just awful what people are trying to do to him!

The legal fees of $30,000 will be paid in three payments. The first payment of $10,000 is due by the end of March.

Judge Bershon broke down the $5,000 monthly support payment, allocating $2,000 for rent, $1,000 for a car, $1,000 for food, and the rest for other costs.

On February 26th, Phypers testified in court that he had only $200 and stated the decision would definitely be helpful, though he was focusing on getting through each day as it came.

Mark Gross, Richards’s attorney, explained that the costs of caring for her 14-year-old daughter, Eloise, are unusually high. Eloise has a rare genetic condition that causes developmental delays.

He argued that people who have been abused shouldn’t have to financially support their abuser, pointing to Denise’s successful request for a permanent restraining order against Phypers, which was granted in November 2025.

His lawyer responded that the Quantum 360 founder has not been convicted of the charges.

Richards recently shared on Instagram that the past year was difficult, involving both loss and the revealing of difficult truths. Despite the pain, she expressed gratitude for the resulting clarity.

Phypers was previously married to actress Nicollette Sheridan before their divorce in 2018 .
