Demi Moore’s Heartfelt Message About Bruce Willis’ Dementia Struggles

Demi Moore has shared a heartfelt message about her former spouse, Bruce Willis, who is currently fighting against Frontotemporal Dementia.

The celebrity known as The Substance star and the renowned Moonlighting actor were husband and wife between 1989 and 2000. They have three daughters together: Rumer (aged 36), Scout (aged 33) and Tallulah (aged 31).

The star of The Substance and the well-known actor from Moonlighting were married for over a decade (from 1989 to 2000) and share three daughters. Their daughters are Rumer (age 36), Scout (age 33) and Tallulah (age 31).

‘We will always be a family, just in a different form,’ Moore told Variety.

In my case, it was always clear. I attend because that’s what one does for those they care about, as the star of About Last Night put it.

Willis also shares daughters Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10, with wife Emma Heming, 46.

Demi goes to see Bruce every week, always aiming to offer comfort and support to her daughters, Emma and the daughters whom both Emma and Bruce have together.

Moore expressed that it was uplifting, perhaps inspiring for others, to witness the enduring bond between them despite their divorce, suggesting an alternative approach to relationships.

There is life after divorce. There is a way to co-parent with love,’ Demi explained.

The G.I. Jane actress made a similar statement to CNN in December.

Regardless of when Bruce and I parted ways through separation and divorce, the acknowledgement that we form a family, one that will endure in its unique form, has remained significant to me.

She said to Christiane Amanpour, “That shape or form might develop and transform, and interestingly, we all have the potential to exist within it.

During her CNN interview, she also gave an update on the Sixth Sense actor’s health.

‘Given the givens, he’s in a very stable place at the moment,’ Moore said.

Additionally, I’d like to emphasize that I’ve mentioned this previously, yet it holds a deep sincerity in my heart: It’s crucial for anyone navigating through this situation to genuinely understand and empathize with their current state.

‘And from that place, there is such loving and joy,’ she added.

In February 2023, it was disclosed by Willis’ family that he had been diagnosed with Frontotemporal Degeneration (FTD), which led to his retirement from acting earlier due to issues with speech and understanding language, a condition known as aphasia.

Since then, the Hollywood icon has been showered with love and unwavering support from his family.

Last month, Emma shared insights into their experience, highlighting that she does not hide the truth of Bruce’s situation from their little girls.

During a conversation with Town & Country Magazine, Heming stated that the condition is often incorrectly diagnosed, overlooked, and misinterpreted.

She acknowledged that reaching a diagnosis was crucial, as it allowed her to understand what frontotemporal dementia entails and subsequently educate their children about it.

Emma explained, “I’ve always been honest with them, as they’ve witnessed Bruce’s deterioration throughout their lives. I’m not trying to protect them from the truth.

As a die-hard admirer, I can’t contain my excitement as I revel in the radiant afterglow of Demi’s initial Oscar nod! This extraordinary recognition comes to her for her spellbinding portrayal in The Substance, where she’s been nominated for Best Actress. The anticipation is palpable as we eagerly await the grand ceremony!

The role required Demi to dig deep, deeper than she ever had before.

She mentioned that it occurred to her that she often lacked the advantage of learning from other actors during several scenes, as she put it.

At age 62, she’s acutely aware that the movie world often discards older women, so she cherishes every opportunity that comes her way.

In her words, “It’s a story we’re familiar with — as actresses reach a certain age, they can feel undervalued or ignored within Hollywood.

However, notice the current situation. Our tales are gaining attention. There seems to be space for us. And that’s thrilling!

Before The Substance came along, Demi thought her career had ended.

She confessed that she had reached a stage where she didn’t seem to be growing or faced with new challenges, feeling stagnant instead.

‘And I thought, maybe the universe is telling me I need to do something else.

However, later on, The Substance appeared, and I felt, “Ah, here’s something I can immerse myself in fully. This is where I can give my all.

If Demi wins the Best Actress Oscar, she would join an exclusive club of three actresses who have won while their female directors were also nominated for Best Director.

She would also become the sixth oldest woman to win in the 97 year history of the Academy Awards.
